0.4.3 and bad pass releases

I am wondering what causes one of the new poor pass release comments to trigger.

I assume it is a dice roll (RNG) based on the QB's release rating and maybe scramble rating if under pressure. If this is the case, then please explain something to me. Why did my QB with 80 pass release have 24 of those comments trigger out of 57 pass attempts and my opponent's QB with 65 pass release have 0 out of 42. ... I want to understand, but I am having trouble making sense of this.

I think it's a wide-spread situation. I've been riddled with those remarks, too and my team won the game. I just look past the scathing commentary on how my QB is passing like a Weeble Wobble and look at it as just the game system keeping QBs in check. (not over-powered)

There must be a reason for it though. There's no reason for my QB to have a bad release on nearly half of his throws.

It's also extremely inconsistent. We're three weeks into the new season in NCAA2. Here's a breakdown of the related comments in my games:

There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. And why is my 91/99 accuracy QB completing only 48.7% of passes? That seems way too low considering his other attributes are also pretty good.

I'm not happy with how the new release nerfs good QBs so much, but I'm even less happy that I don't see a reason for my QB to be playing this way. Should QBs have been nerfed a little? Yeah, probably, but not like this.

nods and I'm sure as you're bringing these issues to light and JDB is made aware of it more we'll see adjustments to bring the QB back more towards the 4.2 version. It's a delicate balancing act but I, too, would like to see a happy medium of scaling back on the rapid fire short passes while weaving back in more of the aerial up over the top assault.

It's mostly a dice roll where pressure and skill are variables determining the probability. Skills are accuracy as well as scramble skill if the QB is moving. Younger QBs should have more wild passes than more experienced ones as well.

This actually existed previously but just was not included in the play-by-play. The probability calculations did get updated, but reporting is new.

What does pass accuracy have to do with releasing the pass? I don't understand why that would be involved. Still though, 91/99 accuracy. That should help my QB in question.

Scramble skill, I understand. I guess 71 is too low. This would seem to make speed for the QB even more important, which is a real shame. QBs shouldn't need to be fast to be good. But with the incessant blitzing, it makes it hard for QBs to plant their feet and pass it properly if they can't outrun a blitzer nearly every play. This also makes blitzing even more effective.

Tom Brady and Peyton Manning would likely be bad in MFN. Unless they have really high scramble skill too. They have/had great pocket presence more than being good at scrambling. I still want a pocket presence or under pressure attribute for QBs. That would be so nice to have.

You do good work, JDB, and I appreciate your work. Sometimes I may not understand or agree with the changes, but that's ok. Keep up the good work and improving MFN!

JDB has been aware of the problems with the passing game for months. The decision was to release 0.4.3 rather than fix them. Most of the problems are actually purposeful nerfs to stop QBs from being too accurate. These nerfs are a band aid for the fact that stutter and reading multiple WRs made coverage exploits worse.

I'm still seeing very low rated but accurate QBs matter while highly rated QBs do not play much better. Would be nice to someday see something other than accuracy matter for QBs.

My 82 Default QB just got outplayed by a 62 Default QB. I can understand being punished for blitzing, but I saw a QB with higher Accuracy and lower Look Off Defender & lower Field of Vision look like Tom Brady compared to the QB that should have been the better of the two.
