Gameplan rules

Started to finally take more notice of these; think it's an area that the management of needs improving on.

I'd like to see the ability to save a rule set (offensive and defensive) is a "Gameplan Rules" data set - so for example, I want to run certain rules against a certain team, just load up that ruleset.

At the moment, it's either load individual rules one by one or have every single rule present and activate/deactivate on a game by game basis, which can lead to things being overlooked.

I'm finding that every game i have 4 or more def rules for I lose.
I've settled on a three D rule or less motto.
I find I win *i dunno most of my games as i have not nor will i ever do such huge research over multiple seasons* when i use three or less D rules.
I do know I won more often with 3 or less and lose more often with 4 or more D rules.

Is it just me (which means I can do some more homework with my overrides) or are other players finding that the more D rules used the greater (and my crazy **** thinks exponentially) the odds are to lose?
Haven't won a game with 5 D rules since late 2023.

Interesting question.

I've had no passing games for years, did some analysis, came up with some offensive rules and suddenly started passing the ball decently.

Defensively not been the worst, but not even above-average, so doing the same.

Actually the opposite for me. Never been a dynamic offense, but I only have offensive rules for 4th down situations. On the other hand, I have multiple defenses lined up for various personnel packages that I tweak based on opponents scouting trends. If you aren’t careful it can backfire horribly, but as long as you pay enough attention to not overlap or leave gaps in coverages somewhere, you can put together one of the consistently toughest defenses in the most competitive of leagues. The fact that there are only a handful of truly effective plays on either side of the ball reduces strategy to one of 6 or so defensive plays that each match up almost perfectly to stop a certain offensive package. It really only gets beat when the difference in talent is totally overwhelming.
