Johnny Omaha has decent numbers, but his progress has been in constant decline since being drafted, (other than some small upward ticks in training camps). The red and blue lines just met a couple weeks ago, and the downward trend got slower, but still decending.
His contract is up after this season, and he wants a $95M bonus to sign.
I can't see where he's worth it.
Anybody ever see a player reverse their progress trend? His numbers aren't terrible, but he's not worth that kind of salary hit.
Any other comments welcome as well.

You are in the New York Giants' Daniel Jones situation. He isn't elite, but what are the chances you can let him go and find someone better. Will you overpay just so you have him, but knowing he might not be the long term answer and you might have to find a new QB anyways. We know the Giants paid up. We will see what you decide, because there is a flip side, which is you let the QB walk, but you have no replacement lined up and the team stinks.
I'd probably lean toward letting him go. He's done so poorly, even without a replacement lined up, a journeyman QB probably would not do much worse. But he's still young. Maybe with a better supporting cast, he does better?
He's definitely underperformed for his ratings, but if you let him become a free agent somebody else will make a crazy offer and you're going to lose him. If you want to keep him at all I'd re-sign him right now even though he's asking for a lot of money. Plus, you could still trade him away later if you really get frustrated - somebody will get seduced by a QB with all his red ratings.
I'd think about tweaking your playcalling to give him another shot. Since he's so slow, if you call lots of medium or long passes and your offensive line isn't fantastic he'll get sacked all the time waiting for your receivers to get free. Just my two cents - good luck.
JDB is supposed to be making changes to the engine eventually. When that time comes, Johnny Omaha might be get a boost to the upper echelon. Just something to consider.
