20hurricane has an issue with his team. He is not able to trade because of the IP address limit. Now he assures me that he does not have two teams in this league, nor does any family member. He has no idea why his IP address is being flagged. He posted on the general forums about this and the suggested fix is to alter the league settings to allow for trades with teams with the same IP address. I am told this is a setting I can change, but I do not actually see the button for it right now. Maybe it is an offseason only type change? Anyways, I wanted to put this out there for league discussion because making the change could affect the integrity of the league. While I believe hurricane is not trying to abuse the system, we do not know if in the future other might try to and this opens up the gates for them to try. On the other hand, hurricane can't trade right now, which is not fair to him either. Let me know your thoughts - should we change that setting to allow trading from teams with the same IP address. Or is the risk too great that hurricane just can't trade anymore. We have until the offseason to debate this I guess, but this is a big enough decision that I did not want to make it on my own and wanted feedback before deciding.
I'd be against changing the league settings norm. I know hurricane created a second account when the subscription model started (hurricane20 and 20hurricane) so he could keep two "free" teams in Moguls and the German League (fun league BTW). I don't think he is abusing the system (I don't think he has a *third* account so he can trade with himself), but I wouldn't be surprised if someone came along eventually and did cheat that way. The ensuing drama/anger from that happening would take away the fun from this league, so I vote to just keep things as they are.
If hurricane paid up for the cheapest subscription level that allows you to have multiple teams, I'm assuming that would solve the IP address problem and he could go back to making trades. Just my two cents.

hello, first of all, thank you norm for making it a topic here. that way everyone is informed and knows what it's all about. here again about my situation. at the beginning of the season i was able to make an offer to everyone without any problems (dang had also received some from me). but then i tried out the new interdace and looked at some things. but i couldn't find an option for trades there, for example. so i switched back to the old interface. since then i can no longer make offers to almost any team. e.g. not even dang and duane anymore. so i'm afraid that more people might have this problem.

There is a trade deadline and it has passed, so this debate won't be resolved until next year. It sounds like an issue with the new interface? Maybe it will be corrected by the time we hit the next offseason and this discussion is moot?
