Eddie Cruise is no longer a Duck, (or a Warthog, for that matter).

The Charlotte star, who was expected just a few short weeks ago to retire, was signed by the Irvine Anteaters.

This was quite the surprise, as the only team that seemed interested in giving Eddie a shot was the Arkansas Thrashers. Rumors also has it that after a weak FA period, Charlotte also extended a one year contract to the former sack master.

CFBRD owner Bill Steinbach told the press, "It will be hard seeing such an important part of our history wearing another uniform, but we can't blame Irvine for going after him, and we know Eddie wants nothing more than to play football. I speak for the entire team when I say we wish him well, except for week 15, anyway."

Week 15, as Bill noted, will be Eddie's first chance to line up against his old squad.
