Missed the Playoffs

Scratching my masked head how did I missed the Playoffs.
The Dragons, the Bangles, and the Kayfabe went 9-7 each. The procedure when there are three clubs tied for a wildcard spot is 1) Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the two Wild-Card participants. I beat the Bangles 38-6 in week 13 https://moguls.myfootballnow.com/box/3598 The next procedure is then 2) Head-to-head sweep. (Applicable only if one club has defeated each of the others or if one club has lost to each of the others.) Since I beat the Bangles, but did not play the Dragons, as the Bangles also did not, we move to the next procedure, which is 3) Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference. Another three way tie since we all went 7-5 within the Conference. 4) Next we have Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four. Each team played Roswell and South Brisbane, not counting Division rivals. The edge here goes to the Dragons since they were 2-0, while the Kayfabe and the Bangles went 1-1. The next procedure is then 5) Strength of Victory. That's got to be it since I am the only team that didn't score 50+ points on Miami. Good Luck Bangles in the run |

I thought when there is a three-way tie for the last slot, three teams from the same division can't be selected for the playoffs. :(

First, we don't know what tie breakers MFN uses. We have always just assumed it follows NFL rules, but in reality, it may not. Anyways, applying the NFL tiebreakers, this is what I come up with.
Division tie breaker - not applicable. Dragon, Kayfabe and Bangles are in different divisions Head to head sweep - none of the three achieved this feat In Conference Record - all three teams were 7-5 in conference Record in common games (minimum 4) - The four common opponents were Roswell, Boston, Las Vegas and South Brisbane Dragon went: 4-1 (played LV twice) Kayfabe went: 2-2 Bangles went: 3-1 Assuming the LV twice gets cut to once, it's still 3-1/3-1 with Kayfabe out. Strength of Victory (means the combined winning percentage of the opponents a team has beaten.) Dragon SOV - 54-85-5 Bangles SOV - 47-94-3 ??? Maybe the system went wrong at the common opponents due to the two division games and knocked out Dragon there? Otherwise, it does seem like Dragon should have made the playoffs? |
