What about George Lemmons? He had the numbers for hall of fame. (like it matters now)

Well the stats are gone now, but Lemmons was borderline. But he had only like 70 TDs. His yardage at 13,000 was in the conversation, but he also never had a dominant, MVP like season either. Best career comparison - Edgerrin James. Several good seasons, very above average stats, no postseason glory, no MVPs. I could see an argument for him, but he's no sure thing, and for early induction, I only put in the no doubt hall of famers.
