The Independence Pirates can no longer contain their excitment. With still nine hours remaining before the first pick of the draft, we would like to announce our intention to pick Christopher Quinlan, Wide Receiver, Airforce.
After much deliberation, Coach Barboza and myself decided that we must do what it takes to get Quinlan and we were able to move to the top of the draft to make sure that he will be a Pirate. He has all the intangibles that we look for at wide out at this level.
Sam Evans was informed of our decision this morning. He was more then excited. He knows as we do, that with Quinlan opposite of him, it will take pressure off of both of them and allow them more opportunities.
