As a rookie, Poppa topped 1000 yards rushing with 6 total TDs, as the lead runner for the Shadow Dancers, edging out teammate Claude Payton for the award. Defensive Rookie of the Year: Harold Holt, LB, San Francisco Demons. As a rookie, Holt had 100 tackles, to go with 4 INTs, most of any rookie, and one sack.
Offensive Rookie of the Year: Aaron Thomson, TE, Roswell. Thompson is the first tight end to win this award. He led all rookie receivers with 752 yards and added 3 TDs.
Defensive Rookie of the Year: Michael Crawford, S, Boston. Crawford led all rookies with 6 INTs. He also had 19 knockdowns.
Offensive Rookie of the Year: Robert Adams, RB, Arizona: Adams was a 1000 yard rusher in his rookie season with 6 TDs, the top rookie runner in his class and best offensive selection. Defensive Rookie of the Year: Ulysses Lucia, LB, Independence: Lucia may be the best linebacker in the game already. Not since Allen Reynoso's rookie season have we seen such instant impact. He had 115 tackles and 11 INTs in his first season. However, he will be forever linked to the infamous billyvan trade.
Offensive Rookie of the Year: Anton Holt, WR, Irvine: Holt had 96 catches as a rookie and 765 receiving yards, the top rookie WR by far, doubling the next receiver, and among the overall league leaders in receiving.
Defensive Rookie of the Year: Tom Dovo, DE, London: Dovo was an instant impact rookie, racking up 13 sacks and 15 hurries in his first season.
Offensive Rookie of the Year: Michael Stewart, RB, Irvine. Stewart was an instant impact rookie, rushing for over 1000 yards in his first season, and adding 157 receiving yards and 4 TDs.
Defensive Rookie of the Year: William Bravo, DE, Tasmania. Bravo was also an instant impact rookie, racking up 12 sacks in his first year. He also forced two fumbles and made 54 tackles, 4th among all defensive linemen in the league.
Offensive Rookie of the Year: Luis Higgins, RB, Chicago. In his rookie season, Higgins burst on the scene with 1,144 rushing yards and 333 receiving yards, and five touchdowns. He was one of the key factors in putting Chicago back into playoffs this year.
Defensive Rookie of the Year: Wesley Spaulding, DE, Santa Fe Bandits. Spaulding was an instant impact defensive player, putting up 11sacks. He also had 34 tackles.
Offensive Rookie of the Year: Nathaniel Harris, RB, Brawndo Corp. In his rookie season, Harris was a multi-faceted weapon, accumulating 550 rushing yards and 300 receiving yards.
Defensive Rookie of the Year: James Nickerson, CB, Brawndo Corp. Nickerson lived up to the 8th overall pick billing, racking up 7 INTs and 94 tackles in his rookie season. With both rookies of the year, Brawndo Corp. seems to have its rebuild on schedule.
Offensive Rookie of the Year: Phillip Robinson, WR, San Francisco Demons. In his rookie season, Robinson established himself as one of the top WRs in the league. He had 889 yards and 10 TDs. Defensive Rookie of the Year: David Cloutier, DE, Los Angeles The Red Dragon. Cloutier had 15 sacks and 9 hurries in his rookie campaign, making him a rare defensive star for the Red Dragon. He and fellow rookie Byron Espinoza might form the most formidable defense corps the Red Dragon have seen in a long time.
