Training camp - what is it? It is like real life training camp, where your players get together and practice. This is the time you should set your lineups to get ready for preseason and set your playbooks to get ready. But in reality, you do NOTHING during this phase, yet it is also one of the most EXCITING simulations of the year. Training camp is when your players develop (or regress) the most. In a normal year, this is when you find out if your rookies are hits or busts. If your player's peak number goes down, they are a bust. If it goes up, you have a hit. A player's potential only travels in one direction. And the amount of change depends on your players volatility rating. A player with high volatility can gain/lose up to 15 potential points. The actual rank will also improve, also by up to 10 or so. They will gain some during the preseason and regular season, but those will be like 1 point. The biggest jump is right here. It is also when your old guys lose their skills. You might see your old players lose 4 or 5 points as they age. This is due to getting slower with age, losing strength and losing talent.
