QBs in the 300 Club

There are around 3 QBs in Football Moguls History who have at least 300 TDs in the regular season over the span of their illustrious careers. At least two have won a league championship. Can you name any of them?

Bonus fact: By my count, there are an additional three QBs who could make it to this list within the next two seasons.

My guesses were Spinner, Spartan and Payne, which turned out to be not correct. And it turns out there are 4 QBs currently in that club, not 3.

That's why I said around 3. I knew there was always a chance I overlooked someone. You got two of them though!

For a few seasons, I've teased about the 300 Club, but I do think it's important to preserve the history of this league. We have (on average) one or two teams rotate management each season, but many of us have been playing since early on. The flourishes like the twitter feed and news reports from Coif Jenshaw, the consistent team updates from dang, myself, and others, and the occasional statistical observations are what keep this league fresh when play isn't the most exciting. Hopefully, we are creating an investment in our simulated league that keeps people coming back.

The 300 Club represents a statline that cannot be easily achieved without consistency, endurance, and a modicum of success. It seems obvious but it would take at least 6 seasons of 50 TDs to get to that point, but it's far more realistic with the current game engine to do it in about 8 seasons. In 19 seasons, there are only five quarterbacks to have reached that threshold. Spinner will likely never be surpassed but he had the benefit of throwing during the halcyon days of 0.4.4 when the best threw 60+ TDs per season (Spinner threw 93 TDs in 2020). In any case, here are the inductees of the 300 Club and we have a few more on the rise in the upcoming seasons.

Members of the 300 Club
Patrick Spinner 486
Richard Williams 338
Andrew Martinez 329
John Spartan 321
Stanley Payne 302

Future members?
George Wilson 289
Christopher Hernandez 264
Brian Roberts 236

Very cool to see this much league history. I'm assuming George Wilson will join the club for Chicago before week 6. Brian Roberts has an outside chance before age 34 the way grandad slings the ball around, but maybe too much of a late bloomer to hit 300.

LA QB Ernest Williams is the most obvious future member - 177 TDs in only 4+ seasons. At just age 26, I bet he'll breeze past the mark before 2039.

Haha, looking at the post above the most recent one about how Williams was going to breeze by 300... yeah that was before version 4.6. It will be tough sledding for future 300 club members. It really will be a serious accomplishment I think.

Ebbs and flows. I'm sure in 4.7, the numbers could flop the other way, and the next gen of QBs might surpass Spinner's record.

Also, recalling in Spinner's day, some QBs were throwing 60+ TDs per season, especially that stretch prior to 2022.

You are right about it being a more difficult feat: 25 TDs each season over 12 seasons will be the new litmus test. Not many QBs will stay in the game for 12 seasons...
