Spartan Starts the Seattle ScrubbingBy Reporter NewsmanOrganizational shakeups have begun in Seattle when Defensive Coordinator Stan Snyder was terminated on Monday. Snyder never had much success as DC in 8 years where the team as a whole produced a losing record during that time. Coach Paul Lozano was promoted to Defensive Coordinator. Andrew Tupper was hired to replace Lozano on the Linebacking Coaches. Spartan addressed the press after the moves were made. "Coach Lozano brings a more youthful energy to the club and is well respected among the staff and players. He's a competitor and a leader. He also knows the expectations going into next season."
Rumors are floating that longtime Head Coach Dennis Tomblin (118-97-3) will be the next block to fall after 12 years running the ship. Tomblin won a league championship in his second year (2034) of coaching with the organization but has not won the battleground of the NFC West since 2038. However, Spartan refused to comment on any other staff, rather focusing on the potential of the new hires, so expectations are that no formal decision will be made until the end of the 2045 season.
Additionally, Spartan teased the re-branding of the franchise and opened the door for a plethora of speculation. He discussed that new uniforms, color schemes, and identity are all on the table currently, but once again re-affirmed that the team would not be leaving Seattle.
