Team Has Small Tribute For NielsenFormer Memphis QB Curtis Nielsen was in town last night with the Bangles for a game against his former team. Management thought it may be nice to show our appreciation for what he tried to do with us.
The 2033 First Round (11th overall) pick is the teams passing leader with 21,996 yards for us in what amounted to be difficult seasons as the QB never really lived up to what we thought he was going to become. That happens in life more so than anyone likes to really think about. He did have a season in '39 where we made the Post Season.
The team presented him with a photograph of when he joined us so long ago and we have the same one in our league offices. We wish him and his family the best of luck and the best of health in the remainder of his career.
In the game, Nielsen had a TD pass in a losing effort for the Bangles.
