NEWSFLASH!!!
The MFL must have done it's polling in Charlotte after yesterday's games, As the Warthogs have attained the #1 spot in the leagues power ranking. As puzzling as it seems, it is the first time the team has reached the pinnacle of the poll.
This feat would have been odd enough, had the team not suffered two losses already this season, and fans losing confidence in the Head Coach and O Coordinator.
In other news, to cover the possible loss of Patrick Spinner, the team has dived in to the free agent pool, and may have found a pearl. Former college QB Karl Sturgeon was brought into the locker room. You may remember Sturgeon as the Jacksonville Jaguars fifth round pick in the inaugural draft. Due to a glut at the QB position, the Jags switched him to WLB, a position he never really did well in.
Well, Karl's been given his old number 11 back, (Thanks to Daniel Deville graciously giving it up), and we'll see if his arm can come back as well, after his time in the defensive mosh pits.
The team also picked up the versatile Bryan Berry, who was originally signed as a TE for Washington, but will be the 'Hog's backup at Center until Dale Wilder's return.
