OK, defensive rules. Without giving away anybody's strategies, I'm trying to figure out how to set them up effectively. I have a lot more defensive rules than offensive rules (seems like most people who use them do too) but I'm not sure how often they overrule the normal AI coaching.
I usually set rules for defensive sets based on an opponent's formation. Is it better to set them for specific field location, down and distance, score and time remaining, or set it for the entire 100 yards of the field, down 29+ to up 29+, first through fourth downs short medium and long distance all 60 minutes of play? (Hopefully that makes sense)
I don't know if the rules I've tried to make are TOO specific, and the situations never come up so the AI never uses them. I never like messing with the sliders thinking I'll totally blow up my defense, so I figured rules would be a way to get around that. It just seems like things I've tried to wipe out with new rules keep happening, and I'm not sure how I'm setting them up incorrectly.
