Reg season stats are done, and one of the most standout individual player stats is 25 sacks. The 25 sacks is almost double the next most, which is 13. Interestingly, the 25 sacks were done by a MLB, who is currently listed at MLB2. Another interesting fact about MLB Jacobsen of the Giants, is that he had a total of 3 sacks over his previous 7 seasons. So, that stat and fact begs the question, should you use your 1st round pick on a DE or DT? RDE Bates/OCrush had the 2nd most 13 sacks, his def rating is 78 and was a 6th round pick by the Xtreme. RDE Cherrito/Thrashers had 3rd most 12 sacks. He has a def rating of 67 and was 5.32 pick by the Thrashers. Based on a review of the sack leaders in current game version, I'd say no as far as DL being high first round picks. Key attributes, not overall Ai default player rating are the most important factor related to performance other than play selection.
CB Champ Bailey/ OCrush, Ai rating of only 66, had 7 sacks, tied for 7th most and the only CB in the top 100 sack leaders. He is currently listed as CB4 only. Below is an example of one of Baileys sacks. Key attributes? 95 speed, his pass rush is only 10, so that ability is not needed apparently, tackle is 57, accel 76, and strength 64. Nothing extraordinary other than speed. To put his 7 sacks in perspective, no other CB had more than 1.
https://moguls.myfootballnow.com/watch/5535#1040847Outstanding season for a TE, B Smith/Monarchs. 105 catches, 56 rec %, 1059 yds, 10 yd/catch, 3 TDs. Next best was D Moses/Cards, 91 catches, 780 yds, 8 ypc, 2 TDs. They were 2 of 3 TEs that made the top 40 in rec yards. The other TE on the first page was J Tamayo/Argos. Interesting that Smith was Ai rated 73. While Moses and Tamayo were 93 and 89 raters. The consideration here is whether or not you should use a 1.20 pick or higher on a TE and how important the TE position is relative to WR and RB.
