You're still negative at this time. You won't get him on waivers if over on cap so space will need to be cleared. If he clears waiver wire he won't resign with you.

Hi everyone, it's up to you whether to bid on Gardener or not. We are not applying a "this was a mistake" rule to this transaction or any other AI drops to billy's team from this last sim. In the past, we have worked to get players dropped by AI back to the right team when there was an honest mistake. Like someone signing someone during the playoffs and not realizing being over the cap mattered then seeing all their players cut. And yes, often times it happens to newer owners, who we are more forgiving with.

We are NOT giving billy the same pass. Billy knew about his cap problem. He posted a lot about it in the chat. Numerous people gave him suggestions of how to fix it. Instead, he said he would try to trade his way out of the problem. He wasn't able to execute his trade, his players got cut. What's more... it looks like despite facing all these cap problems, billy actually was bidding on players and signing free agents too! And he's being advised by GrandadB on his moves 90% of the time, so there really is no excuse for "I didn't realize this cap issue."

So while billy is allowed to ask nicely for you to not bid on his players, we will not institute a league mandate requiring so. Feel free to bid on Gardener if you want.

How is it not fair? You knew you were over the cap. Everyone was telling you to cut the DL. You said you were going to and then you changed your mind. But there's no doubt you knew you were over. And then you did nothing. In fact, you made it worse by signing more players. It is not a rookie mistake.

That said, I will honor your request and not bid on Gardener. But if someone else does, that's a consequence of your mismanagement.

Note that we also didn't say "no bids" on CB Osvaldo Costales when the AI cut him for London. Of course, everyone was nice and let him get him back. You are in the same boat as dangalanti was. Good luck!

You can sign whoever you want. I'm just warning you to stay under the cap if you don't want the AI to cut more of your players.

The salary cap is not some new exotic mystical feature that no one knew about. It's a basic part of the game that hasn't changed in all the time we have been playing.

And sorry, "I was waiting for Grandad" is not a legitimate excuse. What's next? "We have to undo the simulation because Grandad didn't help me game plan, so the game shouldn't count." "I drafted the wrong guy because I didn't get Grandad's opinion yet." You are the owner, so the burden is on you to make the tough calls regarding cuts. I think most people will be nice and not bid, just like they did for dangalanti. But just telling you, you are subject to all the same game rules everyone else is, and just because Grandad is advising you doesn't make you exempt.
