IRVINE ANTEATERS RUIN SALT LAKE DEBUTThe Irvine Anteaters sucked up any momentum the Templars had going and ruined the home debut in a 6-0 yawn fest at Rice-Eccles Stadium last night.
Young Rookie QB David Pineal had a couple of picks, a fumble and was sacked 5 times, other than that he had a (what we think is) descent 13/23 for 99 yards throwing the football.
Robert Angell led the team in both rushing yards and receiving yards with 19 rushes for 61 yards and 4 catches for 41 yards. He may not be able to handle the bulk of the offense because he got banged up a bit with a leg injury. He will play tonight.
On Defense Micheal Zamora played his heart out. He forced 2 fumbles, had a sack and 4 tackles. Reed Fanelli had 1 pick and 6 tackles.
Tonight the Templars play against the Brooklyn Tigers, undefeated last season, undefeated in the playoffs, and hardly any scores against them. So the Templars have their work cut out for them. I'm hard pressed to say they have no chance because doing that would cost me my job as reporter for the team.
But......who knows, a couple turnovers, a bad call or two, some injuries, and a little luck the Templars come out on top on this one.
I would bet on it if I could. Templars victory!
