After winning it all in 2020, words like "dynasty" and "repeat" can be gleaned from the idle chatter of the denizens of Boston, but in the locker room, it's all work and no play for the Golden Boys. After some coaching turnover and an exceptional draft, including four eventual starters with only five draft picks, now Boston is poised to once again go deep into the playoffs.
Week 1 seemed easy enough but a somewhat lackluster win over Indy had a few fans holding their breath. Then, a tough loss down in Miami in Week 2 even had some pundits already predicting a Championship Hangover. The team made some play-calling adjustments and just for good measure fired their off-season acquisition Kicker who started off 1/3 FG and 3/4 PATs.
The bold move must have got the locker room's attention because in Week 3, the Biscuits looked ever the championship team, hanging 77 on the Terre Haute Terror, including a rare pick six.
Timothy Thompson now in his 13th year and Super Bowl MVP dropped ten--count em--10 dimes to six different receivers. Clarence Sorenson had over 210 yards rushing, and the defense delivered 10 sacks and two interceptions.
A lot of hype has been focused on the defensive front four, which has been solid if not a little underwhelming, but it's possible that so much attention has been placed on stopping those big boys that WLB Randall Knox has stepped out of the shadows and into the spotlight, recording 3 sacks, 2 interceptions (1 for a pick six), and a forced fumble in the first three games.
Now, riding high off the win, Boston gets another division rival, Buffalo, at home in Week 4. Boston is heavily favored by the bookies, but anything can happen on a Sunday, and the Golden Boys of Boston are bringing it as if it were Super Bowl Sunday.
