Head Coach Joseph Poore’s team struck early with a strong opening quarter. After a six-yard run by Luis Vasquez set the tone, running back David Foster powered in a four-yard touchdown run at 11:41 in the first quarter. Kicker George Cook added the extra point to bring the score to 7-0.

The Aztecs continued their offensive pressure as Foster scored a second touchdown on an eight-yard run just before the quarter ended, extending the lead to 14-0. On the defensive side, the Aztecs forced three interceptions and recorded five sacks, disrupting the Renegades’ offense throughout the game.

The Renegades, under head coach James Welch, struggled offensively, completing only 9 of 23 passes for 65 yards and throwing three interceptions. Their lone scoring drive came from running back Timothy Jackson, who logged 119 rushing yards and scored the team’s only touchdown.

Aztecs quarterback Andrés Santillana completed 26 of 49 passes for 311 yards but threw three interceptions. Despite the turnovers, he effectively spread the ball to receivers Patrick Rivera, who gained 96 yards, Arturo Beltran with 104 yards, and Michael Peters who added 61 yards receiving. Foster contributed both on the ground and through the air, rushing for 116 yards and catching passes for 25 yards including two receiving touchdowns.

Special teams also played a role with Peter Moore punting five times, pinning the Renegades deep in their own territory. The Aztecs' defense capitalized on the field position to control the game's pace.

The Renegades maintained some pressure on defense and managed to sack Santillana three times. However, turnovers and ineffective passing limited their scoring opportunities.

The Aztecs outgained the Renegades significantly, combining for 514 total yards to the Renegades’ 187. The Aztecs did not attempt any third-down conversions, while the Renegades failed to convert on their attempts as well.

With the win, the Aztecs improved their points-for total to 212 for the season and reduced their points-against to 164. The Renegades fell to 5-7, with a division record of 3-3, now on a two-game losing streak.

The victory keeps the Aztecs in contention in their division as the regular season progresses. They will look to build on this momentum heading into the next matchup.

Special mention goes to defensive end Robert Brenneman who recorded two sacks, applying consistent pressure on the Renegades’ quarterbacks throughout the game.
