The Monarchs improved their record to 11-1 with a 24-7 victory over the Tigers on Sunday at home, extending their winning streak to seven games. Coach John Rodriguez’s team maintained their perfect 4-0 mark in the division, further solidifying their lead at the top of the standings.

The Monarchs opened scoring in the first quarter when quarterback Ken Jones connected with fullback Robert Blevins for a 19-yard touchdown, followed by a successful extra point by kicker Jerry Andrews. The opening touchdown was followed by a field goal from Andrews, giving the Monarchs a 10-0 advantage early.

Jones completed 24 of 36 passes for 179 yards and two touchdowns, with one interception. The ground game was effective as well, totaling 175 yards on 25 carries and producing two rushing touchdowns. Running back Richard Scott led the rushing attack with 126 yards and scored a receiving touchdown. Blevins added a rushing touchdown and contributed 83 receiving yards.

On the defensive side, the Monarchs recorded one interception while limiting the Tigers’ offense to 118 passing yards and 62 rushing yards. The Tigers quarterback completed 11 of 20 passes with one touchdown and one interception. Despite two sacks, the Monarchs defense prevented the Tigers from mounting sustained drives, including forcing multiple punts throughout the game.

The Tigers managed to score their only touchdown in the second half through a rushing touchdown by wide receiver Christopher Xavier. However, the Monarchs controlled field position and clock management, aided by punter Dominick Shaw, who consistently flipped field position with several punts exceeding 40 yards.

Penalties were minimal on both sides, with the Monarchs committing one penalty for 10 yards and the Tigers two penalties totaling 10 yards. Neither team was successful on third downs during the game.

With this win, the Monarchs continue to lead their division by a full game over the Tigers, who fall to 7-4-1. The Monarchs aim to clinch their playoff positioning as the regular season progresses, having already secured the division title.

Coach Rodriguez’s squad will look to carry this momentum forward in their next matchup. The disciplined team effort on both sides of the ball kept the Tigers off balance and maintained a steady advantage from start to finish.
