The Aztecs improved to 2-0 on the season with a 21-0 shutout victory over the OrangeCrush on September 9, 2063, in Coyoacan. The Aztecs controlled the game on both sides of the ball under the direction of Head Coach Joseph Poore.

Quarterback Andrés Santillana completed 21 of 30 passes for 198 yards and three touchdowns. He was efficient and effective, with the lone blemish being an interception. On the ground, the Aztecs ran 46 times for 153 yards and three rushing touchdowns.

The scoring started in the second quarter when Santillana connected with Michael Peters on a 5-yard touchdown pass to make it 6-0. George Cook added the extra point to put the Aztecs up 7-0. Late in the half, Santillana found David Foster for a 10-yard touchdown strike. Cook’s extra point again was good, sending the Aztecs into halftime leading 14-0.

The defense stifled the OrangeCrush offense all game. The home team totaled only 83 passing yards with 1 interception and 34 rushing yards. The OrangeCrush were never able to convert in the red zone and failed to score despite several punt returns deep into Aztecs territory early.

In the third quarter, Santillana threw a 26-yard touchdown pass to Alberto Aguilar, extending the lead to 20-0. The extra point failed but the Aztecs maintained full control.

The Aztecs' defensive line pressured OrangeCrush QB Robert Williams throughout the contest. Albert Wilkerson led the defense with two sacks, while Miguel Ángel Juarez forced a fumble recovered by the defense. The Aztecs also recorded one interception.

On offense, running back David Foster contributed 77 yards rushing and added a touchdown. Tight end Arturo Beltran was the leading receiver with 86 yards. Wide receiver Alberto Aguilar contributed both rushing and receiving yards, including a rushing touchdown.

OrangeCrush suffered an injury scare when Santiago Romero went down on a punt coverage play but was able to return. The team struggled to gain yards and could not find the end zone, now sitting at 0-2 with two losses and 3 points scored vs. 48 allowed.

The Aztecs, now 2-0, demonstrated balance and efficiency on offense and tight coverage on defense. Coach Joseph Poore's squad will look to continue this momentum as the regular season progresses.
