The Aztecs held off the Coyotes 27-17 at home in Week 10 of the 2063 regular season, improving their record to 7-3. Coyoacan's team maintained their standing in the division, now holding second place with a 2-2 division record.

Aztecs' kicker George Cook opened scoring with a 35-yard field goal in the opening quarter. The offense then surged in the second quarter, as quarterback Andrés Santillana connected on several key plays, including a 17-yard touchdown pass to running back David Foster followed by a touchdown pass to wide receiver Michael Peters. Santillana’s successful connection with Peters came amid a hold penalty, but the Aztecs capitalized to build a 17-0 halftime lead.

Santillana finished with 241 passing yards, three touchdown passes, and 25 rushing yards. Running back David Foster contributed 113 rushing yards and 31 receiving yards, including one receiving touchdown. Tight end Arturo Beltran added 64 receiving yards, highlighting the Aztecs' balanced passing attack.

Defensively, the Aztecs pressured the Coyotes' quarterback with six sacks. Despite intercepting the ball once, the Aztecs also threw three interceptions themselves, illustrating a competitive but turnover-prone game on both sides.

The Coyotes were led by quarterback Fred Terrill, who completed 29 of 44 passes for 299 yards and two touchdowns but was intercepted once. Wide receiver David Lewis led all receivers with 110 yards and a touchdown, while Robert Ro added a 25-yard touchdown reception. The Coyotes' ground game struggled, posting negative rushing yards.

Coyotes managed to get on the board with a 35-yard field goal early in the third quarter and cut the Aztecs' lead with a long touchdown pass from Terrill to Lewis early in the fourth quarter to make it 17-9. After a field goal by Cook extended the Aztecs' lead to 20-10, the Coyotes responded with a 7-yard touchdown pass to Ro, narrowing the gap to 20-17.

The Aztecs sealed the game late in the fourth quarter with a six-yard touchdown pass from Santillana to fullback Rubén Ortega, followed by a successful extra point by Cook.

The Aztecs converted six of fourteen third-down attempts and scored touchdowns on three of four red zone visits, while limiting the Coyotes to one touchdown on two red zone visits. Penalties were comparable, with the Aztecs penalized six times for 40 yards and the Coyotes four times for 39 yards.

The victory keeps the Aztecs in a strong position as the season approaches its final stages, while the Coyotes fall to 2-8. Head coach Joseph Poore's squad looks to continue their momentum heading into Week 11.
