The Monarchs’ unbeaten season has another emphatic chapter: a 21-3 win over the Thrashers that extended their streak to 12 and added a statement road result against a 10-2 opponent that has already clinched its division.

For a little while, the afternoon belonged to the kickers. Doug Lyons put the Thrashers ahead with a 36-yard field goal in the first quarter, and that was their only score. The Monarchs answered with a play that changed the shape of the game. With 10:09 remaining in the second quarter, Richard Scott broke loose for a 95-yard touchdown run. Jerry Andrews’ extra point made it 7-3.

Scott finished with 110 rushing yards and a touchdown, giving the Monarchs the kind of ground-game punch that has helped carry this team through a perfect start. They added another six before the break when Ken Jones connected with Russell White for an 88-yard touchdown, stretching the advantage to 14-3 after Andrews’ kick. White’s standout line included 95 receiving yards and a touchdown.

The lead held through a long stretch without another score. The Monarchs’ offense was not flawless: it converted only two of 12 third downs, while the Thrashers managed five conversions in 19 tries. But London’s balance gave Rodriguez’s team enough answers. The Monarchs finished with 126 rushing yards and 170 through the air, and did not turn the ball over. Their defense kept the Thrashers out of the end zone, while the visitors added two sacks.

Michael McDougal supplied the final touchdown, running in from 14 yards with 2:53 left in the fourth quarter. Andrews’ third extra point made it 21-3. The Thrashers had one last chance to add to their total, but Lyons’ 54-yard field-goal attempt with 38 seconds remaining sailed wide right.

The margins tell the story of a Monarchs side that can win without needing a perfect afternoon. Their one penalty cost five yards; the Thrashers were flagged four times for 30. And although George Seals recorded both of the home team’s sacks, London’s explosive plays proved decisive. Scott’s long run and White’s touchdown reception turned a narrow early deficit into a comfortable cushion, while McDougal finished the job late.

At 12-0, with a playoff berth already clinched, the Monarchs keep building momentum under John Rodriguez. The unbeaten record remains intact, and this win came against a Thrashers team with a 10-2 mark and a division title secured. For London, the standard is still demanding; the result, however, was unmistakably convincing.
