The Monarchs made their unbeaten record look less like a number and more like a scheme: win the turnover battle, dictate the run game and leave the opponent with no clean answer. John Rodriguez’s side blanked the Renegades 49-0 on the road, moving to 13-0 and preserving its division-clinched status with a performance built on pressure and efficient execution.
The first crack came early. Hiram Gish intercepted Landon Salters near the Renegades’ 34-yard line, and the Monarchs turned that field position into Michael McDougal’s one-yard touchdown run for a 7-0 lead. Jerry Andrews’ 28-yard field goal made it 10-0 before the opening quarter was over. The Renegades had a chance to answer from long range in the second, but Victor Tidd’s 61-yard attempt fell short. The Monarchs then finished another goal-to-go opportunity with Ken Jones’ one-yard touchdown pass to Russell White, stretching the margin to 17-0.
The second half followed the same tactical pattern. Hudhaifa Ismaeli picked off Salters early in the third quarter, and Jones found White for a 12-yard score to make it 24-0. Andrews added a 44-yard field goal, then the Monarchs’ pass rush delivered the most emphatic defensive sequence: Larry Carrizales brought Salters down in the end zone for a safety, extending the lead to 29-0. Carrizales finished with two sacks, part of a three-sack team effort that repeatedly disrupted the Renegades’ passing game.
With the defense setting the terms, the Monarchs’ backfield kept the offense ahead of schedule. McDougal ran for 128 yards and three touchdowns, including a 10-yard score early in the fourth quarter and a one-yard touchdown later in the period. Richard Scott added 82 rushing yards; his two-yard conversion after McDougal’s second fourth-quarter touchdown pushed the score to 43-0. Jones completed 23 of 33 passes for 207 yards and three touchdowns, with White collecting all three scoring receptions and 92 yards. White’s 46-yard touchdown catch with two minutes remaining supplied the final points.
The team totals underline the mismatch up front: London ran for 265 yards on 46 carries, converted seven of 13 third downs and scored touchdowns on five of six red-zone trips. The Renegades managed 37 yards passing and 37 rushing, converting only one of 11 third downs. Their late fumble exchange briefly produced a loose-ball scramble, but Darryl McCoy recovered for the Monarchs and the shutout remained intact.
For Rodriguez’s group, this was a complete complementary-football win: the defense created short fields and a safety, while the offense balanced Jones’ passing with a punishing ground attack. The Renegades, now 3-10 and eliminated, could not solve either side of that equation.
Monarchs’ defense and ground game engineer a 49-0 shutout
John Rodriguez’s unbeaten side turned two interceptions into scores, controlled the line of scrimmage and improved to 13-0 with a Week 13 rout of the Renegades.
