The Golden Boys of Boston have played lights out over the last month, especially after a resounding win against the then 12-2 New York Football Giants. Some starters rested the final game against the Jets, but still won handily and walked away injury free. Boston gets the Wild Card Bye to rest up even more and then will host the Divisional round the following week.
The End of an Era?With back-to-back Super Bowl appearances, a Super Bowl win and MVP, and just having completed his 13th season, Timothy Thompson has now thrown for both career highs with 72 TDs as well as a passer rating of 118.84. Many Boston fans are wondering is this the year Thompson retires? Pundits have it as about a 1 in 5 chance, and Thompson is still under contract through 2023. Much may depend on how the Biscuits do in the playoffs, and the man himself is on record (and on script) saying, "We'll see. We take games one at a time, and I'm having a lot of fun. Looking forward to hosting the division game in two weeks."
Other NewsRB Clarence Sorenson has returned to full health to accumulate nearly 300 yards in the last two games. Robert Gutierrez (neck) sat out the season finale, but is now listed as uninjured.
The team as a whole is healthy and poised for a deep run again this season.
