DOGS BARELY GET BY DOLPHINS

The last time the Miami Dolphins played the Dogs it was a pre season "Instant Classic" with Miami winning 66-63 in OT. So you would expect to see some points put up in this one.

It didn't happen. Orcutt got the win but it was not pretty. Dogs 10-8,

Orcutt went 24/30, took almost every snap for 210 yards. He took 6 sacks and had 1 TD and 0 int,

The Dogs got the Arkansas Thrashers next and it looks like they are playing some good football at this point in the season. Orcutt will be running the show.

Hopefully it doesn't get ugly.......

HOUND DOGS AVOID BEING TEA BAGGED

The Dogs were in South Boston to take on the Tea Bag Party (formerly the Buffalo Bills, yes the same team that ended the Dogs season a few seasons ago) and things went pretty well. There were no tea bags accomplished and the Dogs got the win 20-6.

Orcutt ran the offense efficiently, not anything really extraordinary but a win is a win. He went 19/26 for 210 yards, 2 TD's and a pick. He was sacked only once. Hull gained the most yards for the Dogs 8/19 but Rutherford had the most carries 16/10 yards. Both of the RB's caught touchdown passes.

The Rookie Daniel Anderson had 2 big catches for big gains and they were at critical times in the game. It's nice to see the young man contribute to the win.

The D had 7 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and a pick. James Clift did a **** of a job out there he and the team sat down to renegotiate his contract. "We feel that James is a lot better player than his ratings suggest, we are looking to keep him here for a couple more years." said owner Sid Allison. "We like his hustle and his style of play."

The Dogs host Detroit next and are look to beat an NFC North team. The Bears and Pack have both beaten us this season.

Memphis is alone on top of the NFC South prior to tonights game. Let's keep up on top and finish strong.

HOADLEY AND MAZON BACK IN DOGS WIN

Robert Mazon was back under center and Nathan Hoadley back in the backfield and they did great. Hoadley had one of the best, if not the best game of his career. 16 carries for 99 yards, and 3 catches for 75 yards, 2 touchdowns and the Hound Dogs offense finally started to look themselves again and beat New York 30-3.

The Dogs defense had 3 interceptions and looked great out there as well.

The Hound Dogs are in first in the NFC South with a 9-4 record. Charlotte is sitting at a perfect 6-6-1. (nice and tidy) The Dogs can clinch the division with a win this week against Irvine. It will not be easy. Irvine is 10-3. Then the Dogs go to LAX and then back to the Elvis Dome to finish out the season against Tampa Bay who beat us quite easily earlier in the season. The Dogs NEED to get 1 of these 3 games to make it into the playoffs.

It's time for the Dogs to buckle down and get serious, I mean to stay focused , about this season or it could slip away.
