Rookie QB... 130.11 rating, 3 TD
MLB Eddie Cruise... 5 Sacks,
Defense... Shutout

Most importantly, the Warthogs were able to rest some injured players this week. With a good cushion in the league, and an opponent still trying to find their way, The 'Hogs may risk trying to nurse their injured players yet another week.

Head Coach Jon Forrest said, "There's always a balance between needing your best athletes, and letting their injuries heal. With such a young team, it's even more of a challenge. That said, if we didn't believe in our younger guys, we wouldn't have drafted them."

Let's hope the 'pit doesn't become the scene of a "trap game". Denver has a good record at 6-3, but the Hogs seem to be more focused on getting healthy for the final quarter of the season.

Home field advantage is on the line here for the Hogs. No one really looks forward to playing in the Mud Pit. But who knows, the Hogs might enjoy it out in Los Angeles. The sunshine, the media attention, the celebrities....

The Warthogs heard the challenge, and laid down like a baked ham.

It wouldn't be Xtreme to say this was an incredible letdown. LA's Norris Spurlock "out-Cruised" Eddie Cruise with SIX sacks, while Eddie had none. The Offense was the worst it has been since bringing in Spinner, and the Defense was it's worst... EVER!!!

A team built around defense rarely stopped the Xtreme on third down, when it could even get them to third down.

The only good thing fans have taken from this game is, a late loss can sometimes focus a team to perform better in the playoffs. We can only hope this is the case, (unless the Vikings can strike gold again in the playoffs).

Well, well, well.

What happens when the vaunted Warthog defense gives up 41pts, and 401 total yards?

Easy... Patrick Spinner goes off for 6 TD's on 22/25 passing for 448 yards. Throw in a Frederick Rice rushing TD, and 3 Carl Fisher FG's, and we see the full turn-around from the early season when the D was supporting the O.

Eddie Cruise was held to 4 hurries, and was obviously tending to a further aggravated knee injury. It remains to be seen if he'll be available for next week's Conference Championship.

Speaking of next week, the 'Hogs get their chance at redemption for the week 15 drubbing they took at the hands of the Xtreme. L.A. is clearly running on all cylinders, and Charlotte will have to pull off a near perfect game to advance. The potential loss of Eddie Cruise surely won't help. (It's reported the Warthogs are desperately searching for a trainer named "Mr. Miyagi".)

Those consecutive failed 4th downs almost changed the game!

Yeah... I guess it's time to change those rules. Everyone seems to know about them now.

The team that came to life with the signing of Patrick Spinner... died with an injury to Patrick Spinner.

In the Warthogs' first contest with the Xtreme, the team fell behind quickly, then fell short in it's comeback. This time, the comeback was cut short, as Spinner went out, and Hung Henson came in, and threw two INT's.

The 'Hog's defense played admirably, without "G.O.A.T." MLB Eddie Cruise, and the Offense kept the team in the game, until the injury to Spinner.

Owner Bill Stein remains confident in his players, yet has hinted major changes in the coaching staff.

He also made a point to the press that he was supporting the conference, saying... "The Xtreme are surely the class of the NFC, and the NFC is the class of the Moguls League. I have no doubt we've lost to the future inaugural champions."

(Some may say there's some bad blood between the 'Hogs and the AFL representative, but we'll leave that to the reader's opinion.)
