BUFFALO ENDS THE DOGS SEASON

Memphis Hound Dog Football will be sitting out of the playoffs once again this season after their worst performance in a while losing to Buffalo 16-3 at home in the Elvis Dome, in front of 73,192 heartbroken Hound Dog fans.

The Memphis offense was looking lethargic gaining only 198 yards offense. The teams average for the season has been 414.8, 6th best in the league. The Buffalo defense cut their offensive production in half and kept them out of the end zone all game. Buffalo has a good defense, 8th best in the league, so good job to the Bills ownership and team. They did a good job. Tom Vroman never could get settled in or comfortable all game.

Vroman ended up 15/49 for 219 yards, with 0 TD, 2 INT, and a fumble. He was sacked 6 times and ended up with a 29.21 rating. The running game was stuffed by the Bills. Shellenberger had 5 runs for 20 yards, Rutherford 2/6 yards, and Wymore 2/4. All for a total of 26 yards.

Souders had a descent game catching 6/124 yards, as did Peter Vu 6/78.

Ashbury led a defense that did well enough, had they some offensive support, to win the game. He had 14 tackles and was flagged for a questionable unnecessary roughness call in the 4th Quarter that helped the Bills keep the ball and the clock rolling. "Unnecessary Roughness?, I thought we were playing in a big football game, not a woman's soccer match." Ashbury commented when asked about the call. "I was just trying to make a big play to help out my team" he added.

At 11-5 it is hard to not be involved in the post season. But that is life in this sport. The 8-8 Minnesota Viking will be HOSTING a wild card game while the Dogs recover and hopefully come back stronger, faster and better next season.
