IMPORTANT UPDATE

The league is being rolled back to Wild Card MIDWEEK, so all playoff teams, PLEASE CHECK YOUR GAMEPLANS.

Here's the story from JDB.

What happened is that Detroit cut too many players in the midweek, and then didn't have enough cap room to get back to 45 players. Since the roster count is enforced for every game stage even if you aren't playing, the AI had to make the cuts to get enough cap room to get back to 45 players.

So once the league is rolled back, we will go in an reverse the cuts and hopefully that solves everything.

FURTHER UPDATE

The league is now rolled back and will sim TONIGHT. Playoff teams please check your lineups and gameplans.

I have installed "fake1" as the temporary owner of Detroit. To ensure no more problems happen this year, and I believe we have a new owner on deck to take over Detroit for next season.

And to verify and protect the former Detroit owner's good name, I believe the cuts were unintentional and he was not trying to sabotage things. Looking at his team, he is just barely under the cap. If he released people prior to the end of the year he could easily get under the roster limit (he only has 46). But the cpu signs players to get back to 45, but that could put him over the cap, and to solve that the CPU releases your most expensive player, but because of the bonuses, the cap hit comes and doesn't solve your problem, so you are still over the cap and still short on roster, so the computer releases your next highest paid player to make room, but it still doesn't solve the issue as there are no cap savings from cutting guys with 5 year deals, and the cycle continues until you cut enough high priced guys and the CPU signs enough minimum salary guys to get you to 45 players. It was just an unfortunate cascade effect for an inattentive owner.

I'm leaving Detroit's existing bids on re-signing his coaches as is. All his cuts have been canceled and there will be no more Detroit transactions made by fake1.

well i think it is going to happen again because you have to have 46 players active and you are 1 player short for that team

Detroit Lions = https://moguls.myfootballnow.com/team/25

if i was you i would just sign 1 player so the CPU doesnt sign players to get 46 players active.

Thanks for the heads up. I almost missed that. I see the issue now. When I try to sign a player, it puts me over the cap. So we need to cut some folks to free cap space then sign multiple min salary guys. But wait... it end of season, so there is no money saved if released at this point as all salaries have been paid... Yikes. Now I see how the cascade effect happened. I'll think about it and post to solution when I figure it out, but DET will definitely need to make moves to sort this out.

EDIT: **** I don't know how to solve this. I messaged JDB. I bid on QB Scott Back with a minimum salary. We will see if that really puts DET over the cap. If it does, we are screwed again...

UPDATE: so punisher is wrong.

I messaged JDB and he says the minimum roster is 45, not 46, so it should be ok. No moves from Detroit.
