We're trying to get in form for when we take on the Red Dragons, Demons, Xtreme, and Warthogs in a tough stretch of games.

MEMPHIS EEKS OUT WIN IN SEATTLE

Memphis traveled up to the Pacific northwest to take on the 0-5 Seahawks. One problem though. Someone didn't tell the Hawks they were 0-5. They came out swinging and built a 19-0 lead before Memphis could counter with 2 minutes in the half. The first half was a calamity of fumbles and picks. Somehow Seattle QB Mazon had 0 picks as they went into the lockerroom 19-7.

Memphis came out in the 3rd Quarter and went 3 and out. Things were looking good for Seattle until Mazon threw his 1st of 4 picks on the next possession. The Dogs were open for business. They dominated the 2nd half scoring 24 points to Seattles 3 and won 31-22.

The teams had almost identical stats. Total yards Memphis 346, Seattle 345.

Tom Vroman played okay football. he went 16/25 245 yards, 3 TD, 1 INT. 119.17 passer rating. He was sacked twice.

Frank Sylvester led the WR's with 6 catches for 68 yards and 1 TD, Prosser 3/63 1TD, Vu 1/48 1 TD.

On the ground Memphis totaled 119 yards with Rutherford 17/80, Spires 13/24.

On defense the mad man Asbury led with 8 tackles. He has become a leader of this defense. Gerald Johnson, Bryan Lucas, John Johnson, and Emmanuel Delao each had an interception. Kaminsky forced a fumble. G. Johnson and Saxon had a sack each.

LT Scott Boos is out next week, as is DE Bussey. Elvin Brown and Earnest Moore may play because it is against enemy #1 Charlotte in the Mudpit. They are playing great defense and their offense has hit the ground in a sprint so the Dogs have their hands full. It is still early in the season but Memphis doesn't want to be swept by the Hogs. It would make competing for the Division Title out of the question.

HOUND DOGS SHIP OFF #1 PICK

In a big trade today, #1 draft pick for the Hound Dogs LT Scott Boos was shipped off to Dallas for DT McDonald and LT Sutton. Scott Boos has started his career being injured he has only played 1 game this season, 64 plays. "We wish him the best there in Dallas".

He was drafted in mind to be the anchor and making this Offensive line tough. He has had a difficult time living up to the #1 pick only because of some injuries. We would have liked to have given him some more time because he WILL be a great player for many years. Injuries on the defensive side of the football and Mc Donald becoming available made the team have to make some difficult decisions.

Mc Donald is injured as well but he has started 6 games has 27 tackles 1 sack, and 7 hurries. He also has an interception that shows his athleticism. He should be a good or great player here in Memphis. He and the Dogs go to the Mudpit tonight to take on rival Charlotte.

DOGS ON THE WRONG END OF *** WHOOPIN'

Memphis was taken out behind the woodshed and beat like they had eaten the Thanksgiving Turkey off the table. Charlotte won 41-13. The Hound Dogs didn't even have a fighting chance as Eddie Cruise disrupted QB Vroman enough to sack him 9 times and force 4 interceptions from the young QB. "We need to figure out something to stop the 3 headed RB monster they throw at us" said Memphis Head Coach. "If we don't, it's gonna continue this way, and I got a pretty bad taste in my mouth over it."

There are no stats that show Memphis Hound Dog Football in a positive light. Therefore we're going to end our report and let the Hound Dog fans know all is not lost. We still can fight for a playoff spot. Once you are in the post season tournament, anything can happen.

The Dogs host the Oakland Raiders tonight in the EAP Dome, come on out and let's get these Dogs back on the hunt.

Memphis had an inspired defensive effort with new DT George McDonald and Robert Asbury playing like mad men and shut out Oakland 16-0 in a sloppy game. QB Vroman played well 10/19 but the important part is 0 interceptions. Memphis had over 100 yards rushing with Rutherford, Adams, and Spires sharing the carries. "We took a page from the Warthogs playbook and rotated our backs in because it really made it difficult on our defense." said head coach for Memphis.

Next week is against Kansas City.

CHIEFS SCALP MEMPHIS HOUND DOGS

The Hound Dogs QB's threw 7 interceptions and the Kansas City running attack gashed the Memphis defense in KC's 18-6 win.

The game could have been mistaken for a soccer match as most of the scoring came from kicks. Kansas City had a good game plan for the Dogs, the executed it and won easily.

Noble for Kansas City gained over 100 yards rushing. He is a pretty good RB.

The Dogs need to put it behind them as they play division rival Atlanta next. The team has also dropped to 7th in the conference. If the season were over today, these Dogs would be outside in the dog house. No playoffs. There are some games left and some of them are against the better teams in the league. It will not be easy for these Hound Dogs to make it to the playoffs. They need to step up and quit making mistakes.

DOGS HAVE LUCK ON THEIR SIDE VS ATLANTA

In front of a near capacity crowd at Elvis Aaron Presley Memorial Dome the Hound Dogs may have had some luck from the King himself. Atlanta dropped 2 wide open passes in the end zone with under a minute left to play then Atlanta QB Gardner on 4th was picked off by Robert Walker to win the game 21-17. Atlanta out gained the Dogs who only managed 310 total yards.

With starting QB Vroman out partially of injury and some of his pride hurt in the total offensive collapse last week in KC, backup Joe Hudson played and he did his job perfectly. He was 12/22 passing 180 yards. 3 TD, 0 INT, and a 121.21 passer rating. He and Frank Sylvester connected 6 time for 57 yards and 2 TD's. Souders was 3/48 with a TD.
The rookie Stephen Rutherford ran the ball very well, running over Falcon defenders a couple of times. He had 6 runs for 57 yards and 2 TD. Adams had 11/58.

On defense Joshua Ehrmann led with 8 tackles, Markus Gomez had a sack, and George Mc Donald, playing injured had a big 4th quarter sack that really helped keep Atlanta out of the end zone on that last drive. We're glad to have a guy like Mc Donald who plays even hurt but contributes every game.

We're going to need everyone we have for next weeks game vs the undefeated LAX. It would be a good one to win because Memphis has already lost twice to the other undefeated team in the league Charlotte Warthog. Thinking about that, if I won the game, it would help my biggest rival.

HOUND DOGS LOSE TO LAX

Undefeated LAX was the Dogs opponent last night and Memphis played them pretty well for half the game. Karl Grizzard, the LAX RB, 6 foot tall, 217 was ineffective in the first half as the Memphis defense stood strong. The game was still close at 17-7 when the teams hit the locker room.

LAX did something a little different with Grizzard in the 2nd half. They got him the ball out in the flat and let him make something happen from there. It worked, and LAX went on to win 34-10.

"I was pretty proud of how the defensive guys stepped it up in the first half. We had a chance there pretty late in the 3rd." said Head Coach Ira McNeil.

The Hound Dogs were without starting QB Vroman. Hudson got the start and did pretty well considering who he was up against. 17/40 190 yards, 1 TD, 2 interceptions, and a fumble. He went to Souders 5 times for 76 yards and Vu 4/45 yards and a TD. In the running game it was Adams who stepped it up. 9 runs for 53 yards. Rutherford, playing mostly on third down only had 2 carries for -2 yards. We need to get the young guy the ball more. He has a lot of energy and can make defenders miss or run them over. Spires had 8 carries for 9 hard earned yards.

On defense, who really did a good job compared to some recent weeks, was led by new comer George Mc Donald who came from Dallas for LT Scott Boos. He had 5 tackles and a sack. Gerald Johnson and Hamilton had 5 tackles also. The defense also hit Grizzard hard causing 2 fumbles.

Things don't get any easier the next few weeks with San Francisco and LA Dragons up on the schedule. The games don't get much bigger for the Dogs either as they sit on the outside of the playoff bubble. These next two games are make or break here in Memphis. Let's see how the team responds and if they can make a push into the playoffs.

DEMONS POSSESS HOUND DOGS

Is there a priest in the house? There was a showing of evil in EAPM Stadium last game when it looked like for a while, the good guys had a chance.

The Demons put up 55 points in a SF 55-38 win. The loss drops Memphis to 6-6 and deeper into a hole that may be nearer to the bowels of **** than a playoff game.

It was SF 34-31 to start the 47th quarter but SF scored 21 in the period.

The Dog's had plenty if offense, 574 total, but Vroman threw 3 picks and Memphis gave away 4 of the 6 fumbles they had and that was the difference. Vroman went 26/44 503 yards, 4 TD and 3 picks. WR Prosser was great catching 6 passes for 240 yards and a TD. Souders caught 8 for 131. Rutherford was the back of the game for Memphis 14-52 yards. On defense, Ernest Moore had 7 tackles.

The team now goes back to Los Angeles to take on the Red Dragon in a game that LDE Antwan Bussey has had circled on his schedule since day 1. He said he has a score to settle with them. I wonder what it could be about being the newness of the league. All I know is he looked fired up as he practiced this week. The Dog's are 1 point favorites in the game.
