RED DRAGON OVERCOME SIX PICKS TO BEAT THE DOGS

In a bit of a sloppy game the Los Angeles Red Dragon prevailed over the Memphis Hound Dogs 30-16. The loss is the Hound Dogs third loss in a row. All against rival teams in the league. That's not a good thing. The team will attempt to get back on track tonight against Tampa Bay. They play the Bucs 2 of the 3 final games of the season. With a little help and some luck, I think we still can make the playoffs.

HOUND DOGS WIN BATTLE BUT LOSE THE WAR

The Dogs were in Tampa Bay to play last night and they won the game 25-7. That's the good news, the bad is that they were eliminated from the post season and Green Bay got the final spot. The playoffs are settled in the NFC, just not the seeding.

Vroman was 18/29 245 yards, 2 TD's. Reuben Souders 5/76 2 TD's, and rookie Rutherford had 13/58 yards. On defense the tandem is back Bussey and Asbury both had 6 tackles and a sack a piece.

The next two games are just for fun. Memphis will likely allow the veterans to rest and the Rookies to play more.

DOGS COMEBACK TO BEAT ATLANTA

Starting QB Vroman, even though he is a rookie, was sitting for the Atlanta game. Joe Hudson was under center leading the Memphis offense. He and the rest of the Memphis Hound Dogs overcame 6 turnovers and scored two touchdowns in the final 2 minutes to come back and steal a win over rival Atlanta in Atlanta, 23-19.

The Dogs had 457 total yards. Hudson went 30/53, for 397 yards. He had 1 TD, 2 INT. Tom Vroman went 3/3 30 yards and a TD. Vu led the WR's 5/136, Souders 9/115, Sylvester 10/82 and a TD.

On the defensive side of the ball Alvin Mercedes had a pick 6, Robert Asbury played great making it to the leagues top players for the week. John Hamilton led the team in tackles with 8.

The team finishes the season against Tampa Bay next week then it's time to grab the golf clubs, take a look at next seasons draft class, and see if we can improve this football team. Because once I was told from someone through the years is "if you don't improve every season, you'll get left behind".

HOUND DOGS FINISH 2017 BY DESTROYING TAMPA

The '17 Hound Dogs didn't make it into the playoffs. At 9-7, they were just a game or two short and now the young team can take some time to reflect on what happened this first season.

There was a 3 game losing streak to LA, SF, LA, all playoff teams. There was the sweep by Charlotte. The Dogs have a lot to work on and will improve in the offseason.

In the 46-3 Tampa Bay game, Tom Vroman threw 5 TD passes.
