Introducing the Hall of Fame class of 2034:

Ricardo Rivers, LB, Arizona Cardinals

Rivers may be one of the best linebackers in the history of Football Moguls that you never heard of. Sadly, his career was wasted in Arizona, where he never once made the post-season. So despite his excellence, most people knew about him. He had 51 INTs as a linebacker, most all time for linebackers and 6th overall, to go with his 984 tackles.

Christopher Taylor, WR, New York Giants

At 6'4" he was a monster wideout and touchdown machine for the Giants. Even though his peak was relatively short - he had only four 1000 yard receiving seasons - his highs were high. In 2027, he had 1898 yards and 23 TDs. His 95 combined rushing and receiving TDs rank 8th all time. He was also a member of the Giants' championship team.

Scott Williams, G, Houston Oilers/Golden Dragon

I guess being part of the billyvan offense is a good way to establish your hall of fame credentials. His offensive lineman are put through fires that no other similar players are and their pass block stats are insane, given their situation. Williams was consider by the CPU as one of the top guards ever. He spent his entire 14 year career with the Houston and now Pennsauken franchise.

Jeremy Carpenter, T, Washington Redskins/Arkansas Thrashers

Speaking of legendary offensive linemen, Carpenter played 15 years for multiple teams and was an offensive line anchor wherever he went. He was a key part of the Thrashers championship era, winning three Super Bowl rings.

Michael Martin, LB, Irvine Anteaters

Martin may be "Mr. Irvine." He spent his entire 12 year career with the Anteaters, compiling 918 tackles and 41 INTs.

Larry Cummings, S, Arizona Cardinals

Cummings was another defensive legend toiling away in obscurity in Arizona. He never played a single post-season snap, but record 55 INTs, good enough for 5th most all time. He was a ball hawk for a defense that needed all the help it could facing the loaded NFC West offenses year after year.

Announcing the Hall of Fame class of 2035

Charles Ray, OL, Arkansas Thrashers

Ray is an offensive line legend. He has more Super Bowl rings than anyone. In his 14 years of playing, he only allowed a total of 14 sacks. He's probably one of the best offensive linemen ever to play the game.

James "Monster" Carter, LB, Las Vegas Wraiths

No player was a synonymous with his team as Carter, as everyone facing the Wraith knew Carter was on the loose. In 12 seasons, all with Las Vegas, he had 981 tackles and was responsible for 26 INTs and 11 forced fumbles. He was also one of the best coverage linebackers ever, with 174 tipped passes.

Randall Meyer, WR, Chicago Bears

Meyer is a legend. One of the best wide receivers of all time and probably the best Chicago Bear ever, playing all 14 of his season for the Bears. His 10,399 yards is fourth all time. And he also had 3600 rushing yards. His 105 total touchdowns is second all time, trailing only the immortal Scott Cosper. Add in his Super Bowl ring, and he's a no doubt hall of famer.

Claude McKenna, CB, Cleveland Browns/South Brisbane Raiders/New York Giants

McKenna is third all time in interceptions with 64. He also had 188 knockdowns. He succeed whether on the lowly Browns or high flying Giants. He's one of the top corners of all time.

Teddy Parker, DL, San Francisco Demons

Parker was listed as a defensive lineman most of his career, but in reality, he was a jack of all trades for the Demons. He played the line, linebacker and even in the secondary. He had 40 INTs, 726 tackles and 19 sacks, doing basically everything for the Demons' defense.

Announcing the Hall of Fame class of 2037

Hunter H. Hemsley, LB, The Real Kayfabe

"Triple H" was the number one overall pick in the 2023 draft, and he delivered a hall of fame career for the Kayfabe. He retires with the most tackles of all time, with 1212. And he was loyal to a fault, toiling away with the Kayfabe year after frustrating losing year. Despite his excellence, he only played in 3 playoff games his entire career.

Thomas Elliott, CB, Frozen Tundra SnoSharks

Elliott was a SnoSharks lifer, playing his entire career for the team that drafted him second overall in the 2023 draft, right after Hemsley. He had 1,036 tackles, which is a huge number for a cornerback. He also had 19 INTs and 219 knockdowns.

20 seasons and no HoF Kicker?

George Miles
13 seasons, 92% completion on 553 attempted FGs (he only missed 43 total), 544 PATs...for a total of 2,074 points; 66 post-season FGs; 5 Championships (4 with Ark; 1 from Indy).

Rex Miller
15 seasons, 546 FGs (91% success on 598 attempts), 573 PATs...for a total of 2,211 points. 24 post-season FGs; 1 championship with LAX in 2031

This is an outrage.

And you forget the top scoring player in Football Moguls history, kicker Michael Taylor. I still haven't come around on kickers in the hall of fame. Maybe by the 25th anniversary I will soften my stance on kickers. What do others feel about it? I mean it seems like if you are the kicker on a high powered offense, you get a lot of stats, but how do we tell that you are a legendary kicker? We haven't had many Super Bowls or playoff games decided by clutch FGs.

I didn't realize Taylor had so many XPs.

I get your point on the high-powered offense versus clutch kicks. I can only point to G. Miles adding points in 5 Super Bowl championships with two different teams. He did something special. Not too many people have championships with different teams. Circumstances have to favor his skill to some degree.
