I don't know the answer to #1. I don't use the new interface yet, so we will see. My guess is no... but I have no idea. But it will not be a long term workaround. Eventually, the computer will edge everyone into compliance.
Regarding #2, limited position switching is still allowed. Please consult the chart above. So you CAN do FB -> RB. Or FB to TE. But you can't do WR to RB. Likewise, you asked about S to LB. That's not allowed anymore. LBs are locked at LB. DBs are locked at DBs and DL are locked at DL. I couldn't think of a way to do it the would cut off the "chain reaction" - that is, if we allowed S to go to LB, and LB to go to DE, then you could convert a safety to a DL in two steps.
Posting again, for reference now that this moved onto the next page:

I've looked it up in MFN 1. Default is: RB -> FB, WR FB -> RB, TE, WR TE -> FB, WR OL -> OL DL -> DL LB -> LB Secondary -> any Secondary
Edit: WR -> WR. I think this is the default position and also conversion matrix

Our twist that folks in this league supported was, can't do all DBs, because that devalues safety - you can just use any CB to play S. Likewise, no DE at DT, because DT gets devalued. You could always play DE at DT. I don't know if any of this makes any difference in the long run, but we are trying it out.
