The bill for these kinds of trades always comes due. A (theoretically) very late second and very late third round pick for a 32 year old linebacker whose best days are behind him is very shortsighted. If the Rams win the Super Bowl this season it will seem like a good move, but eventually everyone will get old and they won't be able to draft young, cheap replacements - same as billy.
I'm a NY Giants fan who lives in LA - Rams just traded a younger LB to Denver last week, so maybe this has been in the works for a while. Exciting in the moment and probably improves a defense that isn't as good as last year, but still the wrong move IMO.
