The 2036 regular season is over and we are set up for an exciting playoffs. But first, time to recognize the stars of the past season.
On defense, once again, it's
Allen Reynoso's world and we are just living in it. The Wilmington CB added another 15 INTs to his career total and is probably even today, the greatest defensive back in Football Moguls history. No one has been as dominant as he has.
On the lines, sacks were down, with the league leader only have 8 sacks.
Casey Cangelosi of Oakland had 8 ad 24 hurries, so he probably was the top pass rusher of the year.
On offense, run offense continued its league wide decline. There was only one player to rush for over 1000 yards this year:
Travis Helms of Wilmington, who had 1284 yards on the ground.
But on the flip side, aerial attacks were soaring. Five wide receivers had over 1500 yards and 3 QBs eclipsed 5000 yards. Leading the way was last year's MVP
Kenneth Rainey of San Francisco, who threw for over 6800 yards and 65 TDs, with 28 INTs too though.
George Wilson of Chicago led the league with an 108 QB rating, throwing for 5100 yards and 43 TDs. And
David Bare did his best Jameis Winston impersonation, throwing for 46 TDs and 41 INTs.
On the receiving end of these passes, in any other year,
Stuart Grizzle of London would have received huge accolades for his season, 2139 yards and 15 TDs is phenomenal. But nary a word was said about him all year because we were all witnesses to a history unprecedented season. The single season touchdown record, 36 by
William Marquis of the New York Giants, went down and we saw one of the greatest single season receiving performances ever. The totals were 121 catches, 3145 yards, and yes, 37 TDs. The last time we saw numbers like that was William Marquis MVP season and it should come as no surprise then that this record breaking season is also MVP worthy. Wide receiver
Jeffrey Lacey of San Francisco is your 2036 MVP!
