The 2033 regular season is done, so it's time to look back at it and honor the top players of the regular season.
Running the ball,
Edmond Johnson of San Francisco won his third rushing title, racking up 1553 yards on the ground to go with 886 receiving yards. Speaking of double threat running backs,
William Holmes of Los Angeles had over 2000 yards rushing and receiving, with over 100 receptions. Not to be outdone, Cincinnati's
Benny Evans led all players with 124 catches.
Speaking of receivers,
Jerry Jeudy was up to his old tricks, collecting another 1498 yards and 13 TDs, but we had a new superstar burst on the scene, rookie wide receiver
Norman Kirkland of Chicago. He put up 1691 yards and 20 TDs, impressive numbers for a rookie that we haven't seen the likes of since Jerry Jeudy.
Looking at the defensive side of the ball,
Kenneth Jacobsen of New York was a pass rush specialist extraordinaire! In limited action he racked up 25 sacks, by far the league high.
Michael Cherrito of Arkansas led the league in hurries for the second straight season to go with his 13 sacks.
In terms of pass defense, it rare that defensive back is such an impact player, but Wilmington's
Allen Reynoso may already be on his way to being the greatest cornerback in the history of the game. His 17 INTs garnered him MVP consideration! He has led the league in INTs every season he has played and in just three seasons, he is already #11 all time in interceptions.
But as usual, when it comes to MVPs, the discussion turns to the quarterbacks. Chicago's
George Wilson had a bounceback season, throwing for a league leading 5111 yards to go with 39 TDs.
Kenneth Rainey of San Francisco was efficient, being one of only 2 QBs with over a 100 QB rating, putting up a 103. And Branwdo Corp had a resurgent season led by the huge volume passing of
Brian Roberts, who went over 5000 yards, while leading his team to a 14-2 record. But when looking at the overall numbers, any way you slice it, the 2033 MVP was clear. He led his team to a 15-1 record, best in the league, with the most points scored, #1 offense in terms of yardage, the only quarterback to throw for over 40 TDs with 42, the #1 in QB rating by far at 111.68, the first in completion percentage at over 70% and tops in yards per attempt by far at 8.77. Your 2033 league MVP is the same as your 2032 MVP. Congrats to
Ernest Williams, Los Angeles, the first ever back to back league MVP!
