Ruiz was clearly the defensive player of the year, led the league in sacks, led the league in hurries by 25, and he even managed to intercept two passes from the defensive end position. He was a monster all season.

Super Bowl MVP: An easy one. The CPU has it right at the top, Owen Barrett, 7 TDs, 483 yards and basically set the tone from the first offensive play, a 75 yard touchdown pass. He may not have gotten the league MVP, but he need not worry as a second straight Super Bowl win is that much more sweeter.

Another regular season is in the books and once again, new achievements in Football Moguls history were reached. For the first time ever, we had an undefeated regular season team. The Boston Biscuits went 16-0. Of course, we all remember what happened to the last Boston area NFL team that went 16-0 in the regular season... will history repeat itself? The New York Giants are in the playoffs...

But when it comes to individual achievement, once again, we saw a familiar crop of names, with of course a few newcomers too.

Once again, Karl Grizzard (LAX) led the league in rushing, going for over 1700 yards. SF had a prolific one/two punch rushing attack, as Scott Cosper and Bobby Ballard finished 2nd and 4th in rushing yards, each going for over 1200.

WR Ronald Aguilar (LAA) went over 2000 yards again and Wilbert Grego (LAX) combined 1700 yards with 20 TDs to lead the league in scores this year.

On defense, Christopher Rey (NYN) was the most dominant pass rushing force, with a league leading 28 sacks and 81 hurries. That helped teammate Fred Marshall pull in 9 INTs. Irvine's William Bell also had 9 INTs to tie for the league lead.

But when it comes to MVP level performances, it once again comes down to the QBs. While there were not insane level 90 TDs season this time around, the numbers were still astounding. Top rookie Chuck Farr, in his first season, averaged 10 yards per attempts, putting up a nice line of 4400 yards with 38 TDs.

We can't talk about this season without mentioning Timothy Thompson, who led the undefeated Biscuits. He had over 5000 yards, 37 TDs and a 113 rating.

SF's Patrick Spinner had an amazing first year with his new team. He led the league with a 69.9 percent completion percentage and barely edged out the best QB rating at 113.65 to go with 45 TDs. Leading a 15-1 team also helped his case, but the MVP once again comes up to the even bigger stat collectors.

New York's Richard Williams was plucked off the free agent market and promptly helped turn New York into a contender. He led the league with over 6500 passing yard to go with 53 TDs vs. 18 INTs for a 108.35 QB rating in a 13-3 season. But he did that with the second most attempts in the league.

Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, perennial MVP candidate Owen Barrett had another statistically dominant season: over 6000 yards, league leading 65 TDs vs. 15 INTs, 113 QB rating (second in the league) and yes a 15-1 record. And yes, this was somehow his "worst" statistical season to date, after losing out on the MVP after throwing 79 TDs the season before. LAX had the highest scoring team and the number one offense by yardage.

So all that said, your 2019 regular season MVP is Owen Barrett. The captain of the best offense with the most TD passes, almost best QB rating, second in yards passing and 15-1 record to boot cannot be denied this year. If all that were not enough, the CPU also selected him as QB of the year award winner for the third year in a row. Congrats to our first two time MVP!

Congratulations Owen Barrett on being awarded the Owen Barrett "Most Valuable Player" Trophy by the Owen Barrett selection committee. You were able to complete an amazing 56% of your passes despite only having 3 great/good WRs. Well done!

This year's Super Bowl MVP is Raymond Farr. The CPU agrees as well. He dominated the game and his 67 yard catch and run is the stuff of legend. It was an easy call as he carried the offense. Los Angeles caps the three peat and Boston finishes 18-1 in New England tradition.

New York has been starting to close in, LA put a solid game together in the conference championship but a couple more breaks go my way and it's a very tight game.

The 2020 regular season is in the books, and numbers continue to be just plain bonkers. Offenses across the league are putting up insane statistics, but who had the best season? Well, let's run down some of the league highlight players.

Scott Cosper of San Francisco was the top rusher this year, going for almost 2000 yards with 15 rushing TDs. He's also the consummate team player, playing on his slave wages contract despite his status as #1 RB. He's no Le'Veon Bell.

The top receiver this year was RB turned TE turned WR, William Marquis of New York. He had a 2000 yard season with 25 TDs.

On defense, Phillip Turner of New York was sack master this year probably the defensive player of the year and teammate John Stewart should get mention for his 8 INTS, 3 of which were returned for TDs.

But as usual, it was the quarterbacks making all the noise and records were set.

Revisiting our banner class of first round QBs, the future looks bright for some.

The CPU chose Andrew Martinez of Los Angeles as the top rookie passer. Despite not playing the first two games, Martinez put up an impressive 56 TDs vs. only 5 INTs. Number one overall pick Wayne Smith of Terra Haute was just as great, passing for over 7400 yards as a rookie with 58 TDs and bringing Terra Haute from worst to the playoffs. Michael Higgins of Miami deserves recognition for his 6200 passing yards, which is also insane for a rookie QB, and also guided his team to the playoffs. The only rookie first rounder with a disappointing season was Todd Sather of Jacksonville who put up stats of 3500 yards, 18 TD, 18 INTs and a 73 QB rating. Three of the four rookie first rounders will be playoff QBs!

But the real MVP contenders were:

Timothy Thompson, Boston - He led his team to the number 2 seed, with an impressive total of 7,388 yards, 64 TDs, 1115.23 QB rating.

Robert Mazon, Memphis - He set the single season record for best QB rating, a ridiculous 136.08. He averaged 12.81 yards per attempt, also a record. Oh and he also threw for 62 TDs and over 6400 yards. In any other years, he would be the MVP going away..

But this season we had a no doubt, record setting MVP. The 2020 regular season MVP is Patrick Spinner, San Francisco! It is pretty shocking that Brian Teeple's 90 TD season record only lasted two years. Spinner broke it by throwing for 93 TDs, with only 15 INTs. Add to that exactly 8000 passing yards, also a league record, and a QB rating of 127.27 and you have a no doubt MVP pick. While others have pointed out that SF only made the wild card this season, SF's collapse vs. Miami was the fault of the defense. Spinner as usual put up huge numbers that game.
