Super Bowl XXXIX was a non-contest and suggested that maybe Super Bowl XXXVIII was just a brief interregnum in the Brooklyn Tigers dynasty. Despite featuring a battle of 15-1 titans, the game really was never in doubt. The Brooklyn Tigers jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. Charles Puleri hit two first quarter TDs to set the tone. Meanwhile, the Upside Down Sicilians started with two turnovers, a fumble and a Manuel Scroggs INT - one of two he would have on the day. WR Troy Sullivan hauled in 11 passes and RB Larry Camacho rushed for 56 yards and received for 75 yards, including a 45 yard catch and run. It was 27-0 before the Sicilians added a late FG to make the final 27-3. Puleri finished up 32/37 with 243 yards and 3 TDs. At this point, one has to wonder about the discussion of the greatest QB in Football Moguls history. John Spartan won three Super Bowl MVPs, 4 Super Bowl rings and one league MVP, and when he retired, was generally considered to be one of the greatest, if not the greatest of all time. Charles Puleri has won 3 league MVPs and 5 Super Bowl rings. And with his performance here, he is named Super Bowl MVP for the third time. Charles Puleri, your Super Bowl XXXIX MVP... and the GOAT of Football Moguls? By the way, he is only 31 years old and has years ahead of him to add to his legacy.

The 2056 regular season is done, and something feels very familiar about all this. But first, let's look at some of the great individual performances of the season.

On defense, Robert Brennerman of Roswell led the league with 20 sacks. Ricky Lundberg of Battle Creek led DBs with 12 INTs, trailed by Hiram Grish of Memphis who had 11.

On the ground, it was a close race between Michael Sepe of Kleinmachnow and James Powers of Seattle for the rushing title, with Powers winning by just two yards with 1,107 on the season. Fantasy folks would appreciate Timothy Hamilton of Los Angeles, who had a league leading 17 TDs.

In the air, it was a rookie, Cole Slaugh of Colorado dominating receptions. The young tight end's 138 catches were 38 more than the second place, Ronnie West of London. Slaugh also led the league with 1,314 receiving yards. Chris Delavega of Jackson Township had 11 receiving TDs.

Throwing the ball, Joe Mancini of Colorado led the league with 4,536 yards in the air and also led the league with 29 INTs. But in reality, this season was deja vu all over again. Once again, one team went undefeated and cruised to the number 1 seed in the AFC. Once again, its QB led the league in TD passes, with 39. Once again, he put up a 97 rating with over 3,800 yards. And did I mention, he was also last year's MVP and last year's Super Bowl MVP? At this point, we might as well pencil in his name on our MVP ballots every season, and start prepping that "GOAT" bust in the hall of fame. Your 2056 league MVP is once again, Charles Puleri, QB, Brooklyn Tigers.

Super Bowl XL featured a rematch of Super Bowl 39, and it was all about big plays. Big plays dominated the game. The game was won or lost based on how the each team responded to the big plays. Brooklyn started the fireworks off with an 83 yard touchdown pass by Charles Puleri. Jackson Township answered with a 79 yard touchdown run by Thomas Garcia. There were huge fumbles! Big INTs! Big runs! Garcia would rush for 193 yards on just 13 carries. Puleri would throw for over 500 yards! But the game was a close, back and forth struggle. Brooklyn's aggressiveness nearly cost them the game - again big plays. Jackson Township came up with two huge fourth down, goal line stands to keep their hopes alive. But Brooklyn kept choosing to live by the aggressiveness or die by the aggressiveness. They passed up a game leading field goal instead to punch in a touchdown to seal the game. That sealed up their fifth championship in six years, and their unprecedented ninth Super Bowl title.

Throughout the game, it was one player making all the big plays. Long touchdown catch and runs, long receptions, tough first down catches. Puleri threw for over 500, but he doesn't get close that number if his star wide receiver doesn't haul down all the footballs thrown his way and add miles of run after the catch yardage. Indeed, we saw a Super Bowl record 356 receiving yards. Your Super Bowl MVP is WR Fred Biletnikoff!
