What a Superbowl game indeed! The most exciting game I have personally witnessed, given the context surrounding the game. The second meeting in a brewing rivalry, the Biscuits were out to exorcise the Demons after an embarrassing defeat last season. While the Demons won the first battle, the Biscuits ultimately had the last laugh, as the Demons watched from their Vizio 120-inch Reference Series 4K TV with HDR retail $130,000 televsion as the Biscuits lifted the greasy flaked covered Mogul Superbowl Trophy.

Seeing that HDR imagery burned the soulless Demons and fueled them to train and work harder than ever before! Or so you would have thought, the Demons instead came out of the starting gate weak, mustering a pathetic 7-2 record. An all-hands meeting was called to discuss the future of the franchise, grievances were aired out, it was intense and at one point, Patrick Spinner was crying, but everyone grew closer and a big lesson was learned.

What lesson was that exactly? Cheese was no longer on the menu. Instead, a balanced diet would be served up to all who opposed the Demons. Changes were immediately seen, as the Demons grinded the game to a halt, controlling the pace of the game, and winning on defense. This new culture change bled into the playoffs as the Demons halted 3 of the most prolific offenses to a paltry 42 points maximum on the way to their first Superbowl victory!

Here's to you Boston Biscuits, you guys played great and were a worthy adversary. Sorry I misspoke. Let me start over. As your league champ, I'd like to give thanks to the runner up Boston Biscuits for playing a great game, giving the league a Superbowl to remember. Your league champ looks forward to continuing this rivalry.

Here are some artist renditions of the pivotal moments in the game.

The 2022 regular season is in the books and it is once again time to hand out the hardware. This year featured statistical declines across the board on offense and increases on defense. No more 90 TD seasons. Instead, efficiency was the name of the game.

Fantasy teams must have loved SF running back Scott Cosper this year. As the top RB, he rushed for 1662 yards, nearly 400 yards more than Robert Salazar, the second leading rusher. He tacked on 731 yards receiving as well and totaled a league leading 19 TDs.

There were only 4 1000 yard receivers this year and leading the way was Los Angeles Red Dragon RB Harry Dunbar, who had 1718 yards on 159 receptions, with 9 TDs, all league highs.

The most feared defensive player this season was Irvine's James Smith with 29 sacks and 19 hurries.

When it came to passing, Patrick Spinner continued his legendary career by putting up 34 TDs against only 2 INTs, with a league leading 134.99 QB rating. Oh and by the way, his team went 16-0. How can you top that?

Well, an unheralded free agent stepped onto the biggest stage and dominated the league from start to finish in Arkansas. Little known QB John Prentice stepped into the huge shoes of Timothy Thompson and proceeded to throw for over 4500 yards and a league leading 45 TDs. He led Arkansas to the best record in the AFC and kept the Boston/Arkansas legacy going. This year's league MVP is John Prentice, QB, Arkansas!

So we went from the most exciting, highest scoring Super Bowl ever last season, to the lowest scoring, most boring Super Bowl ever. It was a total drag watching the most anemic offenses ever to make the Super Bowl face two of the best defenses ever. Indianapolis won the game with two first half scores and a record low 183 total net yards. Edward Fink gets the title of worst QB ever to win the Super Bowl, with his 26 completions for only 138 yards. James Morris ran for only 61 yards. In fact, the longest play by Indianapolis was just 18 yards. That means this win was ALL about defense. And who was the heart and soul of this defense? None other than the guy leading them all season. He was making tackles everywhere, a game high 11, and the two biggest plays of the game were the two turnovers by Chicago. Who forced and recovered one of those fumbles? None other than your Super Bowl MVP, Robert Clevenger! This is the first time we have awarded the Super Bowl MVP to a defensive player and it was well deserved.

Another regular season is in the books and again, the league saw record setting performances... this time on the defensive side! Yes, we witnessed the greatest team defensive season in history as the Los Angeles Extreme allowed only 104 points the whole season, an all time low and lower than the legendary 2000 Baltimore Ravens. They also gave up a record low 189 yards per game. Despite defensive excellence, it was a team effort and no one player was the sole standout, though John Webb had 8 sacks and Carmine Martinez had 7 INTs, driving the team effort forward. But those individual numbers pale in comparison to this year's individual defensive standouts.

Ernest Briscoe of New York was this year's sack master with 12 sacks. And George Walls of Chicago led the way with 10 INTs. But perhaps the best individual defensive season was had by San Francisco's Louis Palumbo aka "Palumbo Island" who had 9 INTs, 96 tackles and 30 knockdowns, plus a defensive TD this year.

But with all the focus on defense, we also saw amazing offensive performances too, against the backdrop against this league wide defensive renaissance.

Leading the way on the ground was once again San Franicsco's Scott Cosper, who lead the league in rushing again, with over 1600 yards and 10 TDs. But equally as impressive was RB John Hook of Irvine, who pulled off a Roger Craig/Marshall Faulk-esque season by rushing for over 1000 yards and receiving for over 1000 yards and accounting for 18 TDs.

Speaking of receiving, one receiver was head and shoulders above the rest this year. Joseph Melancon of Cincinnati had over 2000 yards receiving and 22 TDs! His numbers dwarfed the other leading receivers and brought the Bangles to the playoffs for the first time since 2019!

But as we come to our MVP award winner for 2023, there really was one choice that stood out from the pack. It helps when your team goes 16-0 and you are the key cog in the offense. Your 2023 league MVP is Richard Williams, QB, New York! He led the league with 42 TD passes, the only QB over 40 TDs, and had a league leading 106.14 QB rating, the only full time QB with over a 100 rating. Throw in almost 4500 yards, and yes, a perfect regular season 16-0 record and the MVP is obvious. Congrats to Richard Williams.

Chicago returned to the Super Bowl this year looking for redemption, and they got it. Meanwhile, the Arkansas Thrashers blew homefield advantage in the Super Bowl to go down in defeat once again. Chicago's defense had carried Chicago all postseason, as it took down the top teams in the conference to get to the Super Bowl, and it was George Walls one again the defense star with the big time tackles and third straight post season game with an INT. But the INT of James Proffitt made an even bigger impact. That said, Chicago had many other heroes, perhaps none bigger than, of all people, their kicker, William Struthers. He went 7 for 7 include two from long distance, with the capper being his 56 yard field goal to put Chicago up by 8. A miss there would have given the Thrashers good field position to win the game with a TD, but Struthers could not miss today. But in the end, the Super Bowl MVP - the guy who delivered on the biggest stage, in the biggest game of his career, was QB Michael Patel. The second year QB, in his first season starting, looked like a seasoned pro with ice in his veins as he completed a Super Bowl record 32 of 34 passes, with the only two incompletions being a drop and an INT. That's right, only one of his passes touched the ground the entire game and that was because his own receiver dropped it. Add in 294 yards passed and an come from behind 4th quarter FG drive, and Patel, is your Super Bowl MVP!

Another regular season is in the books and the Super Bowl is around the corner, but it is once again time to take a look at the year's top performers.

As usual, the best teams had the headliners. For running backs, we saw two all purpose yardage giants on the field. For Chicago, Randall Meyer rushed for 1453 yards and received 699 yards, combining for 16 TDs. Not to be outdone, Arkansas' Clarence Sorensen had a double 1000 yard season, rushing for 1347 yards and receiving 1280 yards.

Speaking of receiving, Joseph Melancon of Cincinnati did it again. He was the league's dominant receiver for the second year in a row, leading the league in yards, with over 1500 and TDs with an even 20.

On defense, Albert Hart of Chicago was the pass rusher extraordinaire this year, with 27 pressures to go with 8 sacks. Brian Langton of Houston was the ballhawk of the year, nabbing 9 INTs.

But when it comes to MVPs, it usually comes down to the team leader, the passers and this year was no exception. We could not imagine the top teams doing what they did without their captains under center. Second year QB Tyler Burchett of Denver made his mark by leading the league in passing yards. Charles Reese made a strong case for himself, by being the most efficient QB out there, with a league leading QB rating of 104.34.

But this year, we award the MVP to the player that did the most with the least, that has carried a formerly dilapidated franchise into contention, that led the league in TDs, by far, and finished second in yards. Just two seasons ago they were bottom dwellers, and now they are 12-4 AFC North Champions. And the leader of that team is our 2024 regular season MVP, QB Paul Duncan of Cincinnati.

We had our least competitive Super Bowl in awhile, as we had a rematch of Arkansas vs. Chicago. Arkansas dominated the whole game. Its defense set the tone early in a low scoring first half, and it made the huge plays before halftime with a critical turnover leading to a touchdown. Michael Myers' forced fumble will give Chicago fans nightmares for years to come. Michael Patel cracked under pressure, throwing two INTs, but he rallied to attempt a furious comeback when the game seemed out of reach and was able to pull within one score. However, Arkansas had Mr. Consistent leading the way, as Clarence Sorensen just ate up yardage and clock, both rushing and receiving. He dealt the knockout blow with his game sealing touchdown with a catch out of the backfield. So there is little doubt that after leading his team in receptions, with 4 catches for 50 yards, and rushing for 128 yards, your Super Bowl MVP is Clarence Sorensen!

Another regular season is over and in 2025, offenses league wide began to show signs of life. While it wasn't a return to the fun and gun heyday of the start of the decade, this year saw multiple 5000 yard passers, 1000 yard rushers and 1000 yard receivers. Let's talk about the best of them as we look at the MVP race.

For RBs, Scott Cosper, SF, and Clarence Sorensen, ARK, were once again the dominant forces. They both combined to put up over 2000 combined yards rushing and receiving, and Cosper was your fantasy MVP once again with a league leading 13 TDs. James Morris, IND, was a new entrant into the elite RB club, as he put up a career high 1533 yards rushing, finishing second behind Cosper for most yards.

There were 6 1000 yard receivers and the hardest working pass catcher this year was RB Andrew Weiner of Dallas, hauling in 146 receptions. Detroit had two of them with WRs Christopher Joiner and TE Richard Nissen totaling over 1000 yards. WR Tim Gray of Irvine probably had the best overall season, leading the league in yardage and receiving TDs.

With all this offense talk, let's not forget about the defense. Rookie Michael Cherrito, ARK, established himself as the dominant pass rushing force in the league. Will we be seeing his name among the top defenders for years and years? He had 8 sacks and a league leading 31 hurries in his rookie campaign. As for DBs, no surprise that George Walls, CHI, was once again top ball hawk, adding 9 more INTs to his resume. Also a special mention to LB William Moore, NYN, who was was a rare pass coverage specialist LB, with 8 INTs and 25 knockdowns.

But as usual, the MVP talk turns to the QBs. Last year's MVP Paul Duncan was at it again, throwing for a league leading 5,505 yards and 43 TDs. Of course he also threw a league leading 34 INTs. William Smith of Detroit also passed the 5000 yard mark. But this year's MVP was pretty clear cut. He finished second with 41 passing TDs and was the league's most efficient passer, with a league leading 111.76 QB rating to go along with 71.7% completion percentage and, by the way, 13 wins. Your 2025 MVP, Patrick Spinner, QB, San Francisco!

Snubbed season after season, Patrick Spinner finally gets the recognition he deserves. Even Spinner himself was surprised to win the award. History had shown that voters had a clear bias for the Demon legend, requiring 93 touchdowns and offseason arm surgery to even enter the MVP discussion. With his second MVP, the world (minus Los Angeles) is looking forward to possibly a historic season next year. #SurpassOwenBarrett
