The 2030 regular season is over and it's now on to the playoffs, but first we hand out the hardware.
There were strong individual performances worthy of recognition throughout the league. On defense,
Alex McLaughlin of South Brisbane was a disruptive force on the D-line, leading the league with 13 sacks to go with 19 hurries.
In the secondary,
Eric Rodriguez of Kleinmachnow led the way with 8 INTs and 28 knockdowns.
On the ground,
Joshua Ryan of South Brisbane burst onto the scene. In his first year as a starter, he led the league in rushing with 1509 yards, adding 8 TDs, plus he showed off his dual threat ability by hauling in 74 catches for 704 yards.
Speaking of receiving, there was a lot of hype for the Topher "Gopher" Quinlan/Sam Evans combo in Independence and they delivered, with both going over 1000 yards receiving. Kerry Schindler of Wisconsin also had a great year with 1577 receiving yards and 14 TDs.
It was actually a down year for QBs. No QB threw for more than 40 TDs and only 2 threw for over 5000.
James Brill of Independence led the way with 39 TD passes.
John Spartan of Arkansas still had an amazingly efficient season, completing 75% of his passes while throwing for 38 TDs and over 5300 yards, finishing with a league leading 123.22 QB rating. That would be impressive and almost MVP worthy in any other season.
However, this season, we witnessed pure greatness in action. We saw the greatest rookie season in the history of Football Moguls. No player ever burst on the scene and was so dominant. The numbers speak for themselves. This second round pick nearly doubled the number 2 receiver in yards. 2,923 yards in a season is second most all time in a season. The only player to ever have more receiving yards in a season was William Marquis, whose ridiculous 3379 yard season was thought to be untouchable... until now. Marquis was the only non-QB to ever win the MVP and now with a player so similarly dominant, we cannot now deny him the same honor. The MVP this year is the player who lead the Kleinmachnow Orange Crush to the playoffs on the sheer will of his receiving hands, the guy who survived a QB carousel and still put up numbers every week, the guy who had 407 receiving yards in ONE GAME, and by the way this guy is only a rookie and only getting started. Your 2030 MVP is
Jerry Jeudy, WR, Kleinmachnow!
