I always love the Superbowl recaps with gifs and images to support it. It really brings the recaps to life. Great work Norm!

The 2028 regular season is in the books and it's time to hand out the hardware and acknowledge the star players of the season.

RB Edmond Johnson of San Francisco finally lived up to his $20M a year salary by leading the league with over 1500 yards rushing. Rookie runner William Holmes of Los Angeles had a 1000 yard season, being only one of 3 1000 yard rushers in the league.

We had our first potential MVP wide receiver in ages. WR Marvin Lane of San Francisco dominated the season, with over 2500 yards and 28 TDs, making him the closest thing to peak William Marquis the league has seen in ages. He was head and shoulders the best WR and averaged over 27 yards per reception!

On the defensive side of the ball, the most dominant defensive line force this season was Michael Cherrito of Arkansas, who led the league with 13 sacks and also had 26 hurries. And in the defensive backfield, no one should be throwing at Rudy Ayers of Los Angeles, who had a league leading 13 INTs.

Once again, we turn to the QBs for the MVP though. Billyball was back! Jonathan Menzter of Houston put up over 6000 yards, without even starting every game but putting the ball in the air 913 times! The GOAT, Patrick Spinner of San Francisco, continued to excel with a 118 QB rating. When will this guy ever retire? Is he on the TB12 system? But this season was dominated by Terra Haute's star QB Christopher Hernandez, who compiled a league leading 48 TDs, 5081 yards passing, 112 QB rating and 72% on completions. By the way, Terra Haute also had a perfect regular season, up until the final meaningless regular season game. Christopher Hernandez is your 2028 MVP!

Blatant discrimination, fraud, dirty, fixed.

These are all words used to describe the judging here today. Let it be known, that this is not the first time Spinner has been robbed and surely won't be the last if Norm can help it. The true results, and I've seen it through my sources was that there should have been Co-MVPs...Patrick Spinner and Marvin Lane. I have already called the LAPD to report a robbery, your just desserts are coming.

I am not alone in this sentiment either.

There was a "Golden State Warriors" type effect at work, where when you have both Kevin Durant and Steph Curry, both get discounted in the MVP race. Having both Lane and Spinner canceled out some votes.

Spinner lost because he holds grudges too long.

He's becoming too abrasive for the voters.

It's the Tom Brady effect. Spinner is hated everywhere outside of San Francisco.

The 2028 Super Bowl was a defensive struggle. For most of the game, the true MVP was the Charlotte defense. Regular season MVP Christoper Hernandez kept pushing the ball downfield, racking up over 300 yards passing, but almost every drive came up short, with 4 drives ending with field goals and 3 ending with INTs. It was perhaps Hernandez's worst game of the season. Had the Charlotte defense come up with one more stop, your Super Bowl MVP would have been Christopher Worley, who was everywhere on the field, tipping passes and making tackles. But, they didn't and it didn't help that Hernandez's counterpart, Neil Kleinschmidt, also wilted under pressure, throwing two devastating interceptions, reminding us of another Neil - Neil O'Donnell:

Instead, Hernandez was given one last chance to redeem himself. And he did it, with the help of the one option that had been delivering all game long. On the first pass of the drive, Hernandez hit Charlie Chester for 17 yards. Then on a critical third down and 10, Hernandez hit Chester for a 22 yard gain, down to the Charlotte 18 yard line. Chester's third catch of the drive brought it to the Charlotte 3 yard line. Then came one of the gutsiest calls in Super Bowl history. Needing a touchdown to win the game, coach James Wethington put the ball in the hand of all people, fullback Steven Bowie, who had only 6 carries in the regular season, and only had 1 career TD up to that point, and the rest is history:

Terra Haute pulled off an epic comeback and the MVP of that comeback drive and the game was WR Charlie Chester, who finished with 13 catches for 130 yards. Terra Haute fans can rejoice with their first Super Bowl win!

The 2029 regular season is in the books. This year saw fierce competition and the playoffs are sure to be exciting as there appear to be strong teams throughout the league. But looking at the individual top performers, we start with the rushers.

Running back Edmond Johnson pulled off a Marshall Faulk like all around season with over 1000 yards rushing and receiving, leading the way for the Patrick Spinner-less Demons. The only thing holding him back from MVP consideration was his lack of touchdowns. Albert Murtha of the OrangeCrush also had a career year, coming out of nowhere to rush for over 1100 yards and 7 TDs. He also added over 900 receiving yards. And while we are talking about dual threat RBs, Chicago’s Curtis Branch, Arizona’s Martin Deskins and Irvine’s Eduardo Johnson also put up over 2000 combined yards. We are living in the era of multitalented running backs.

But let’s not forget the wide receivers. They were headlined this year by second year sensation Sam Evans of the Pirates. The former number one overall pick did not disappoint in his sophomore season, putting up a league leading 1770 receiving yards and 21 TDs, and place himself squarely in the MVP talk by leading the Pirates to the playoffs for the first time in years.
San Francisco’s Marvin Lane continued to burn opponents on deep routes with 17 TDs.

Switching over to the defensive side of the ball, the Los Angeles Xtreme had one of the top defenses this year so it’s no surprise that this seasons sack masters were the twin combination of Jose Robertson (16 sacks) and rookie sensation Joseph Greene (13 sacks).

Los Angeles also obviously had top pass defenders too with Rudy Ayers tied for the league lead with 9 INTs along with Brian Langton of the OrangeCrush and Rafael Shaw of Detroit.

But once again the MVP award will go to a quarterback and this year the choice is clear. Yes, Otis Danley of San Francisco had a career year, with a career high 39 TDs and 103 QB rating. James Brill of the Pirates was another QB in a new location putting up a career year, with over 5000 passing yards and 40 TDs, more than his career totals prior to this year. But one QB stood head and shoulders above the rest. Battling in perhaps the toughest division in football, he led his team to the division crown. On the way, he led the league with 5799 passing yards and 45 TD passes. And yes, he put the Bears over the top in the NFC North. Your 2029 MVP is Chicago QB George Wilson!
